Hot Tub Havens – Part 1
We are all looking for our own “wow” factor – Is yours a Hot Tub?
Anyone that has ever decided on a self-catering holiday will know that the process of choosing your ideal location and accommodation is based solely on what you (and by extension, your party) want. We are all looking for our own “wow” factor – for some, panoramic and wildland views on the doorstep; for others access to delightful local grub in quaint and picturesque pubs. Some require constant activity, whether land or water based; others just need an open fire, a cosy rug and access to multiple cups of tea to wind away the days with. But we all want the “wow”, whatever form it takes – we want it. So our holiday goes from “this is a holiday” to “This. Is. A. HOLIDAY”. The joy of self-catering is that you can pick accommodation to fit your personal “wow”, and one such “wow” that has become increasingly searched and requested is that of the Hot Tub. Whether stemming from the ideal of indulgence and luxury of what the wealthy Romans called their baths, or perhaps the fact that as children we were banned from them at local pools, for some, the Hot tub is the epitome of grown up and luxurious living. Is there anything more recklessly decadent than descending amongst frothing, churning bubbles whilst sipping a chilled glass of bubbles? The relaxation of being buoyed by a warm bath of simmering water whilst the fizz works its magic – pure bliss. There is no better way to either start or end a holiday day than to surrender to the bubbles, settling back in either rain or shine (both are actually surprisingly satisfying) and saying aloud “now this…This. Is. A. HOLIDAY!”
So sit back, relax and be transported to some of our HotTub Havens…..

It seems almost unavoidable to leave your worries behind during your stay at the rustic Creel Cabin, the magnificent views of Badachro Bay on the West Coast of Scotland alone make it easy to do so. Throw in the peacefulness and remoteness of Dry Island, breathing in the fresh sea-air whilst you watch the wildlife that surrounds the loch and we defy anyone to not be lulled by the escapism of this special place. The cabin is nestled amongst the trees upon the shore of the ‘Isle of Islonia’, where only one other property is located on the entire island. Accessible by a ‘floating bridge’,it is here that you say goodbye to the outside world and enter your own tranquil little bubble, complete with the owner greeting you here and taking your luggage across by boat (and you too, if you so wish!), adding to the overall experience of your stay. Creel Cabin sleeps two people comfortably with a double bedroom, shower room and boasts a cosy open plan kitchen/living. Sit and relax with your favourite tipple and gaze at the beautiful mountainous scenery from the sofa through the french windows, or settle on the small decked area just 5m away from the waters edge with seating and a pit barbeque – the perfect place to spend those warm summer days. The hot tub is a relatively new addition, and situated right along the shoreline, the views from this tub are hard to beat – where the bay begins and the hot tub ends is difficult to say (although perhaps the difference in water temperature would make that easy!) Looking out over the water so close is a rare treat, and the possibility of spotting dolphins and seals just adds to the magic of this truly amazing place. If you hold the desire to truly escape from everyday life, then a stay in the Creel Cabin is definitely for you. Sleeps 2 | From £475/week | Short breaks welcome |
