Soak up the tranquillity of this magical location both outside and in. With high vaulted ceilings and open-plan living, this unique property has something of an airy, modern barn feel about it. Savour its fresh décor, bright ambience and easy interior design, which marries a hint of Scottish tradition with Scandinavian style and natural colour schemes creating a restful but homely space.

 

This single-storey home offers generous accommodation with an easy flow. Settle back to make the most of your free time together in your light and bright open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen. Relax in front of the TV, indulge in a DVD or simply light the wood burner and drink in the views. Cook delicious local produce in your stylish kitchen area and dine in whenever you choose. There is also a handy utility space, with its washing machine and dryer for those damp weather days, as well as a porch for storing coats, boots and other outdoor wear. Wake up to mountain views from either of the double or the twin room and relax in a hot bubble bath in your family bathroom after a long day out in the hills.

 

Step out into your garden on warm days to enjoy the fresh Scottish air and glorious vistas. Dine out here when the sun is shining or simply bring a bottle and glasses out as the sun begins to set. Being on a working farm, guests can also help with collecting eggs and feeding lambs in the spring.

This property is set amongst some of the most spectacular scenery that Scotland has to offer. Lace up your boots and embark upon one of many different walks up magnificent Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. Travel by foot, bicycle or even boat along a section of the Great Glen Way, which runs for 79 miles from Fort William to Inverness.

Hike or drive just over 13.5 miles to the roaring waters of Steall Falls in Glen Nevis, which has a drop of 390ft and is said to be Scotland's second highest waterfall. Or visit magical Glencoe, approximately 23.5 miles from your holiday home – this place transports you to other worlds and has been immortalised in many films. Explore the dramatic scenery of the Lochaber Geopark here by following one of its trails.

Travel 8 miles through beautiful Scottish landscapes to the picturesque town of Fort William to browse in its shops, pause in its cafés and restaurants and spend time in the West Highlands Museum, which tells the story of this area. If weather conditions are right you can hit the slopes of the Nevis range or if you'd prefer to travel by steam, hop abroad the Jacobite Steam Train, with its 84-mile round trip from Ben Nevis, passing the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar and ending up next to Loch Nevis, the deepest seawater loch in Europe. Find a whole host of outdoor activities to immerse yourself in from canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting to skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking. A true adventurer's dream.

We had a fantastic winter break here at this beautiful accommodation. The owners and the location were 100% gorgeous. We would highly recommend. The owners were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very comfortable We did not want to go home. We really appreciate Amy's kindness with the flexibility offer due to bad weather conditions. Shepperds Cottage is wonderfully located: you can go for short and long walks from your doorstep, town-entertainment is a 20 minute drive away, historical entertainment and enlightenment the same. the house itself is complete and comfortable. G&A are very kind and accommodating. we thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings with views of Ben Nevis, quiet and peaceful but not far from Fort William and all its amenities. The hosts were just next door and very friendly and helpful.

Lovely cottage, secluded and in beautiful countyside. Well equipped and the owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. The road and drive have magnificent views to the mountains and wild, (and domestic!), animals and birds are on the doorstep. Great cottage in a fantastic location. Really friendly and lovely hosts. Our twin girls especially enjoyed letting the chickens, ducks and geese out each morning and collecting the eggs. Perfect base for exploring the west coast of Scotland. Highly recommended.

A wonderful, private and secluded location to visit the glorious Highlands of Scotland. An excellent centre to go on the many walks and visit the natural wonders. The day return train ride from Fort William to Mallaig was a particular treat, with every vista being stunning (including the Harry Potter train viaduct (book well in advance if you want Read morethe steam train). I loved this cottage - the living area has so much light that it feels like being outdoors (except for getting cold or wet). Lovely to look at Ben Nevis from the windows. The bedrooms are comfy and spacious and we slept so well in the wonderful peace and quiet. The location is great for exploring the area; our trips included the Caledonian Canal, tRead morehe Glenfinnan Viaduct (and steam train) and Loch Ness, and we enjoyed walks locally and further afield. We were here as a family, 2 adults and 2 children (2,5 and 5). It's such a beautiful house with great facilities, there are a lot of animals outside and the location is great. You even have a view of Ben Nevis. Our two hosts were very welcoming and kind, thank you very much for that!

The cottage was perfect and in a beautiful setting, lots of things to do and visit around the area, would definitely go back for a visit!
