Enter the cottage and step into the spacious porch, where you can leave muddy walking boots and outdoor clothing. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a lovely space for gathering together to watch a family film or share a tasty meal. The stylish shower room is on this level as well as the first of the three bedrooms, a spacious room with a single bed and futon.

Take the stairs to the first floor where you will find a further two well-appointed bedrooms, both light and airy doubles, and the family bathroom with a bath and WC.

Step through the lounge’s patio doors into your private garden where you can fire up the chimenea and chat late into the evening. Beyond the garden is a large grassed area for family games of football. For al fresco dining there is a bespoke BBQ hut with seating area, perfect for a leisurely evening meal. Sue visited to highlight the barbecue hut which is a lovely cosy space and to make sure we were comfortable. We also got some tips for stops on our way home (it was a flying visit!). Lovely cottage and in a beautiful spot some 20 minutes from Huntly itself. Close proximity to the east coast towns is a huge plus and worth visiting as many of these as you can fit in. Cullen in particular is an interesting town with the excellent Rockpool restaurant a must. However, book ahead.
