Serene and snug, this abode welcomes you to escape on a cosy rural retreat with family and friends. Explore the surrounding beauty as you while away time on the Scottish border and spend mornings down by the river where you may be able to spot a resident trout or two! Find glorious moments of peace and quiet at this idyllic abode or step out into the summer heat and sip a tipple in the private garden as you raise a glass to making magical memories with loved ones.

Brimming with creature comforts and cosy corners, this really is a home from home where you can relax and unwind with ease. Countryside charm and fresh tones create a calming ambience which flows from room to room, upstairs to downstairs. Make a brew in the farmhouse-style kitchen which is well-equipped for all of your culinary needs. Rustle up a quick picnic, throw together a tasty lunch or cook up a hearty storm on the AGA as you experiment with flavour or stick to family favourites. After dinner, put your feet up in the inviting lounge; the open fire promises to keep you warm throughout your stay and throws out plenty of heat once you get it roaring. For the competitive amongst you, head through into the TV/games area where you can challenge fellow guests or lose yourself in a film. The utility and boot rooms are handy additions to this home and mean you can throw off muddy wellies, soggy coats or crumb covered picnic blankets with ease and continue with your afternoon.

Climb stairs to the first floor and discover the four bedrooms which all have an abundance of classic charm. Rest your heads and drift off to dream in these restful spaces before waking up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. Freshen up in the family bathroom and enjoy a long tranquil soak in the bath or a quick shower to start the day.

In summer months make the most of the bright Scottish sunshine and spend hours whiling away your time in the private garden. Take care on the steps up to the lawn and keep an eye on younger guests who are free to wander down to the water and splash in the River Alewater.

We loved our week here! Its a fabulous location, really quiet but not too far from Jedburgh or Melrose if we needed anything. Theres lots of space in the house with a gorgeous open fire in the lounge for the evenings. Like any old house there are a few quirks to adjust to and you should note that the garden isnt enclosed as suggested in the descripRead moretion. Antoinette couldnt have been more helpful and we appreciated her advice on local walks and things to do. Wed definitely go back again. Hide

This is our second time staying in the house and we were again delighted to be there. It is idyllic and super to cosy up in on a stormy Nov weekend with good food and good company and plenty of logs for the fire. Communication with Antoinette is excellent and the extra thoughtful touches make us feel very welcome. Thank you!

We had a really lovely week at Belses Mill. The farm was cozy and spacious for the six of us. The area was beautiful and within range of day out options in both Scotland and Northumberland. My kids spent happy hours by the stream at the bottom of the garden and the younger ones were fascinated by the horses next door. Antoinette was very helpful. TRead morehank you! Hide
