Located in the heart of Perthshire on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, this Victorian shooting lodge is the perfect base for larger groups looking to explore the stunning Scottish countryside. With all the grace and charm of a bygone era, this four-bedroom home can comfortably accommodate ten people and two dogs. With endless activities and adventures to be had on the doorstep, this is the ideal choice for friends and family looking to spend some quality time together and take a break from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

With beautiful furnishings and tasteful decor throughout, the cottage has a welcoming home-from-home feel, whether you’re curling up with a book or enjoying some family time together. Well-proportioned rooms and wood finishes bring character, while still retaining a comfortable and relaxing feel.

The spacious sitting room enjoys lovely views over Shee Water, while stripped pine floors and snuggly sofas make it a welcome spot to wind down after a busy day of exploring. Enjoy a wee dram together around the open fire as you share stories and watch the sun set over the hills. Younger members of the family will enjoy the separate TV room, which also has a sofa bed. Guests can choose between the more formal dining room for meals or take a relaxed approach by gathering around the table in the kitchen area, or even outside. You’ll find everything you need in the well-equipped kitchen, whether you’re rustling up breakfast or preparing a hearty dinner at the end of the day. A handy boot room on this level is also a welcome addition for storing those muddy boots and outdoor gear.

When it’s time to rest weary heads, you’ll find the stylish bedrooms a welcoming space for a restful night’s sleep. There are four to be found on the first floor, along with the main bathroom, all featuring traditional touches which add to their character. Guests in the en-suite master bedroom will enjoy waking up to beautiful views across the river to the mountains beyond.

Heading outside, the lodge is located within 1.5 acres of its own private grounds on the banks of the River Shee, offering plenty of space to play or simply sit and relax. Fire up the BBQ on those warmer evenings, before settling back with a glass of wine to soak up the tranquil atmosphere and take in the stunning views of the Grampian Mountains. What a wonderful find. The house feels steeped in history, like it's holding countless untold stories within its walls and echoing with the lives of those who once inhabited it. We never felt it was a holiday cottage, we felt it was a home. Just magical. It is spacious. Ideal for a large group. Clearly a loved holiday home and an old house...well appointed kitchen, plentiful logs, and a great sitting room to lounge in with the fire burning. As an old house this has character but also quirks and needs to be treated with respect. We loved our winter stay and spent much time climbing the numerous local Munros.

Amazing cottage. We stayed over Christmas and we were all delighted with the decorations and tree. Everything you needed was provided. Despite it being cold outside, the house was warm and cosy. This house was satisfactory for a family holiday although it is requiring a lot of attention internally and externally and is located on a very busy road. This house is over 30min drive from Blairgowrie so no local services so be prepared The scenery is stunning as always for Scotland.

Spacious beautiful house with wonderful views which feels genuine and peaceful. Thick walls which make for excellent soundproofing. Especially good if you place the children in a different wing of the house- we had adults in the west wing and children in the east! Great holiday for all!! Lovely, large old house with loads of history. Plenty of room for large groups with a well equipped kitchen, multiple lounge and dining areas. Warm and welcoming on a cold damp Scottish evening with views over open farmland and river. The location is great for Balmoral and several other castles.
