Converted from the original byre in 2015, this stylish and welcoming home is in the perfect location for a peaceful family break. Found in the sleepy hamlet of Corriecravie, you can step out of the front door and explore with plenty of walks, hikes, attractions and pristine beaches close by. Despite its secluded setting, you can find groceries, restaurants and a pub in nearby Blackwaterfoot (4 miles), providing everything you could need for a comfortable and enjoyable escape.

Reverse-level living allows this two-storey home to make the most of its incredible location, with breathtaking views across the Firth of Clyde towards the Kintyre Peninsula. With soft muted tones and a minimalist style, the property has a homely and welcoming aesthetic that exudes light and space.

Enter through the porch and find yourself in an airy hallway, with a staircase inviting you to the focal point of the home. But first head up the three steps into the simple and modern master bedroom, off which you will find an en-suite shower room. Two further comfortable bedrooms can be found on the ground floor - one double and one twin - as well as a bathroom with shower over the bath.

But it’s the open-plan kitchen/diner/lounge that is the focal point of this property, providing a wonderfully social space in which to relax and enjoy each other’s company. The room stretches the width of the house, with large windows letting the light flood in and providing those enviable views from almost every angle. Curl up in front of the TV after an exhausting day exploring, cook up a feast in the fully-equipped kitchen, and dine at the table as you savour the view.

Step outside and take a seat at the patio table, breathing in the fresh island air. It’s a great spot for an al fresco dinner or for enjoying your breakfast as you plan the day’s adventures. Parking is available at the property.

With forest trails, towering hills and an abundance of wildlife, fans of the great outdoors will be in their element on the Isle of Arran. Explore the historic castles at Brodick (14.5 miles) and Lochranza (22 miles) and visit the ancient Machrie Moor Standing Stones (8.5 miles) which date back to 3,500 BC.

Climb Goat Fell (17.5 miles), the highest point on the isle and a dominant part of its skyline. It's the perfect spot for keen walkers, who are rewarded with spectacular panoramic views from the top. The superb King's Cave coastal walk (7.5 miles) is a must-do too, where you will visit a series of caves studded in the sandstone cliffs surrounding Blackwaterfoot.

For even more outdoor adventure, head to Arran Outdoor Centre in Lamlash (12.5 miles) for sailing, abseiling, gorge walking, and more.

Get closer to wildlife with all of Scotland's Big Five found on the island; golden eagle, red deer, red squirrel, otter and harbour seal. Join one of the islands many safaris and see how many you can spot.

Of course, no visit to Scotland is complete without heading to the local distilleries and breweries; visit the Isle of Arran Distillery in Lochranza (22.5 miles) and the Isle of Arran Brewery in Brodick (12.5 miles).

We were very comfortable in Davaar Barn for our week on Arran although the adults in our party are more used to king sized beds rather than the doubles. The kitchen was well equipped for the self catering that we did. The views from the upstairs living area were spectacular and our neighbours, the sheep, were very cute. It was a good base from whicRead moreh to visit the whole of the island and happily, for two of our party, a walk away from Lagg Distillery. We had a fabulous time and would recommend. Hide

Lovely location with views across sloping field to sea beyond. Especially liked seeing Ailsa Craig in the distance. Format of the property works well, with the living accommodation upstairs. Despite the peaceful and tranquil location, there is a fixture on the drive which emits a constant whine which we found detracted from using the picnic table. The house is at the quieter side of the island. The house itself was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs lounge with incredible views (weather dependent) of Ailsa Craig, the mainland and the Kintyre Peninsula. The sheep in the adjacent fields were fun to watch. The outside space is really quite smalla very small patch of grass and someRead more seating but not really enough space for active children to have a run around/throw or kick a ball. That aside, we would definitely recommend. Hide
