Many original features can be seen in this period property, including stained-glass windows, wood-panelling and original bathrooms. Beautiful antique furnishings, antique beds and log fires add to the property’s character, while contemporary creature comforts and cool additions such as the media/music room with surround sound and high resolution LCD screen, adds a contemporary touch to this fine abode. The caretakers also live on-site in a private separate wing at the rear of the property.
Take a few steps up to the property entrance and head inside where there’s a wonderful front porch with armchairs looking out towards the hill views, and a grand and welcoming hallway where guests can marvel at the lofty double staircase and thaw out by the cosy wood burner. The inviting living room also boasts original wood-panelled walls and wonderful period features on the ceilings, as well as in the tapestry and opulent decor; there’s also a bay window and a wood burner to enjoy, while the dining room has a welcoming open fire, and an original record player - great for vintage evening entertainment. There’s also one double bedroom, a cloakroom, a conservatory, a music and games room (with a piano, toy boxes, and games), plus a TV and DVD player and a large squishy sofa to curl up on after a busy day out. If you can break away from this fun-filled living space, there’s also a well-stocked kitchen with an Aga, a pantry, and a handy coffee-maker, making it easy to rustle up light lunches and feasts for your much-honoured young Lairds and Ladies.
