Sitting in the expansive grounds of the private Estate, this detached three-bedroom stone cottage is perfect for families or groups of friends seeking a luxurious base from which to explore the Highland countryside. Enjoy walks through the estate grounds straight from the front door or follow the path to tranquil Loch, hidden away in the woodlands. Spend your days hunting for Nessie, discovering ancient castles and walking the spectacular Highlands before returning to your cosy cottage.

Formerly the estate gardener’s cottage, your charming stone holiday home boasts comfortable accommodation with plenty of space for the whole party. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room is a generous space for socialising together around the open fire. All the bedrooms benefit from en-suites, making this the ideal location for friends holidaying together.

Approached via a gravel driveway, step into the open-plan ground-floor living space, decorated in neutral tones with bright splashes of colour. At one end of the spacious room is the well-equipped kitchen where you will find everything you need to produce your meals. Share leisurely suppers around the centrally positioned dining table before snuggling up in the plump sofas for an evening of conversation as the logs crackle in the open fire. The first of the bedrooms is on this floor, a light and airy double room with en-suite bathroom. There’s also a handy utility room and WC on this level too.

Ascend the central stairs to the first floor where you will find two pretty twin bedrooms both with en-suite shower rooms. There is also an attic  games/playroom with TV and games.

Dine alfresco in your private garden on sunny evenings and sip a glass of wine as the sun goes down. Your cottage backs onto a large lawn area, perfect for picnics and garden games and younger guests will enjoy the swings.

Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the abundant wildlife that makes its home on the estate: wander the paths through the ancient woodlands where you can find deer and red squirrels among the trees or stroll to Farr Loch to see the wildfowl on its banks. Hop in the saddle to explore the estate by pedal power or hire a rowing boat to glide across the loch.

Go monster-hunting with a day discovering Loch Ness (23 miles). Find out about the myths and legends of the mysterious Nessie at the Loch Ness Visitor Centre, take a tour of the loch in search of the legendary sea creature and stop for a picnic in the grounds of ruined Urquhart Castle.

For outdoor adventures, the year-round resort at Aviemore (27 miles) offers thrills and spills among the stunning Cairngorm mountains range. Mountain bikers have steep ascents and exhilarating descents to explore and keen walkers will appreciate the choice of trails to suit all abilities. During winter months, Aviemore is the perfect jumping-off point for skiing the 20 miles of runs at Cairngorm Mountain resort (40 miles). The Lecht Ski Resort (53 miles) is another popular ski area with runs to suit all levels.

Spend the day discovering the cosmopolitan city of Inverness with its unique blend of historic buildings, secluded river islands and fashionable restaurants and bars. Cross the pretty suspension bridges to discover the tranquil Ness Islands dotted along the river, where you may get lucky and see the occasional seal splashing in the water.

Outstanding property (the images do not relay its spaciousness well) and very welcoming hosts. Quiet setting and an easy drive to local shops in Inverness. Great for walking right out the door.
