Nestled amongst spectacular Scottish landscapes which are home to fantastic wildlife, this home is perfect for those wishing to escape the everyday and experience a taste of Highland living. Sleeping eight, grab family and friends and head to this humble abode for a real rural retreat. Bring canine companions along too and hunt down some stick chasing spots before returning home to snuggle up by the roaring wood burner, which promises to keep chilly toes and tufty paws warm when there’s a chill in the air. Wake up each day and admire the glorious views across the Monadhlaith Mountains with a cup of tea in hand and then head outside to pursue exciting adventures.

Relax and take a moment to unwind in the bright lounge area. Perfectly suited to both rainy and sunny days, a wood burner offers comfort and warmth and large patio doors can be thrown open to let the sunlight flood inside. Curl up and put the TV on or lose yourself in a good book and forget the everyday routine which you have left behind. The hub of the house is the open-plan kitchen/diner; spacious and light this is a great room for a communal cup of tea and a natter about the day. Rustle up tasty treats, party picnics and magical meals for all to enjoy and then dine at the table and savour each mouthful as you overlook the surrounding grounds. Perfectly suited to those who might have mobility issues is the delightful ground floor bedroom with en-suite shower room. Settle down for the night without having to climb any stairs and wake up ready for the day ahead.

Heading up to the first floor you can find the remaining three bedrooms. All of these rooms are pleasantly decorated for your comfort and offer tranquil environments to rest tired eyes and catch up on some much-needed sleep following days spent out and about. A family bathroom has a handheld shower so you can soak aching muscles or freshen up quickly, whichever you fancy.

Enjoy your very own private garden and spend mornings outside with a mug of coffee and evenings under the stars with a glass of something cold in hand. Those with tails can sniff new Scottish scents and chase their tails whilst stretching their legs and pricking up their ears. A river runs along the bottom of the garden, dip your toes in the water or try your luck at trout fishing! There is ample parking at this property.

Set on the beautiful Dell Estate, there are wonderful walks from the doorstep through woodlands and open countryside, home to red, sika and roe deer. Stroll to Loch Kemp for a wildlife walk around the loch, keeping your eyes peeled for otters and seals. For a more challenging walk, cross the estate until you reach the banks of Loch Ness. Discover the legends of the loch at the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition (28 miles) where the story of the ancient loch is revealed. Containing more water than all the lakes and rivers in England and Wales put together, a trip across the majestic Loch Ness is a must-do. Set sail in search of famous resident Nessie and explore the ruins of majestic Urquhart Castle on a pleasure cruise, or hire some kayaks and paddle your way around the peaceful waters. You could also spend the day exploring the popular Highland town of Fort Augustus (9.5 miles) and visit The Clansman Centre, a fascinating interactive museum, or enjoy a gentle stroll along the tranquil towpaths of the Caledonian Canal.

We had a wonderful time in the cottage. The view is beautiful and there's a lovely garden, save for the children. The house is very clean and had all the comfort you need on holiday. It's a very peaceful and quiet place to enjoy your holiday.

We are 2 OAP's. No Holidaycottages instruction folder. No wheely bins. Pot holed track to property. No warning of Cows, Calves and Bull roaming free in the field around the gated property. Downstairs double bedroom small. Single wardrobe and metal frame for clothes, no drawers. Small shabby en-suite bathroom, no shelf. The kitchen is under equippedRead more for 8 people. 4 mugs and teaspoons, no cooking spoon, mishmash of crockery. On a brighter note the Whitebridge Hotel, lovely pub grub and staff. Hide
