Its striking beauty and remoteness makes you feel like you are experiencing the true Scottish Highlands and some of its breathtaking, untouched wilderness. The picturesque little village of Applecross (1.5 miles) is west facing and offers beautiful views overlooking the bay to the Isle of Skye. Whether it is by foot, bike or boat this is a fantastic spot to explore. There is so much to see and do on this Highland Peninsula from sea kayaking, sailing tours and seal watching, to coast path walking, mountain climbing and much more.

The Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) is only one of two ways into the village of Applecross and is one of the highest roads in Britain reaching 2,053 ft. Spend time walking and exploring as the mountain views all along Bealach na Ba are spectacular, but be sure to take extra care on those Alpine hairpin bends! It is a single track road and one of the most famous parts of the North Coast 500 route, offering magnificent views across the bay to Raasay and The Isle of Skye.

We had a really lovely stay in the Jam Factory. The cottage is very comfortable, despite its small size (one big room) it has everything needed. Super comfortable bed. It is completely peaceful and surrounded by the most beautiful woodland with a river and the sea very close by. Applecross itself is so beautiful- remote and stunning. The ApplecrossRead more estate is a really beautiful place to stay- can highly recommend a meal in the Walled Garden and the Applecross Inn is a 20 minute very scenic walk. Hide

A lovely peaceful location with great walks to take from the door. Bathroom rather old and tired, toilet makes high pitch noise when flushed, but shower is good. Although there is a bench outside, it would be good to have a small table.
