The 16th-century house was originally built for defence and became a residence in the 18th and 19th centuries. It’s welcomed notable guests from Prince Charles Edward Stuart, philosopher David Hume and author Sir Walter Scott. More recently, the cast and crew of the popular TV series ‘Outlander’ have stayed here so you know you’re in good hands for the mightiest of welcomes.
You’ll find character and quirky charms galore alongside large social gathering areas here for your guests to enjoy. As night falls, you’ll find cosy bedrooms in the heart of this castle home and in its tower. If you’re celebrating a special occasion and want spiritual intervention, there’s also a magnificent chapel for hire in the basement.
