This sweet bothy on the mythical Isle of Arran makes the ideal romantic hideaway. Explore the surrounding farmland, venture over hill and glen, stroll down to the beach, and at the end of each full day, retire to your cosy cottage retreat for a restful night's sleep.

The property itself has everything you need to create a magical time away with someone special. Inside, the rooms are decked out with snug furnishings and natural colours, with traditional country features and large windows letting in the light and stunning views from the island.

Step in to find the heart of the home, the living space, which combines a delightful country kitchen and a cosy sitting area. On one wall is a feature fireplace with stone chimney breast, home to a wood burner with plenty of logs so that you can snuggle up beside the TV on cooler evenings. The kitchen is perfect for rustling up tasty meals to take through to the dining space. The bedroom with en-suite wet room is on the ground level, too, so getting up and out in the morning is a breeze. A comfortable romantic room with pretty details, it also has a great view out to the farm and beyond.

Outside the cottage, a lovely garden area with outside furniture and BBQ are yours to enjoy. Take dinner alfresco or just enjoy the night air by the Firth before sinking into bed. The sights and sounds of this working farm will be your only companion as you drift off into a seamless sleep.

The bothy is located on a working farm, so there's plenty to explore even without leaving the grounds of the property. Meet the working collies, the local wildlife, or sample the home grown produce, fresh from the earth. When you're ready to stretch your legs, you can take a stroll along the paths and trails that set off along the coast, do a spot of fishing, take a cycle ride, or venture down to the edge of the Firth of Clyde, where you'll find a beach, rock pools and mysterious coves, perfect for beginning your island adventure.

Your nearest community is in Lagg, a little hamlet where you can dine out at the local hotel or find fresh produce at the creamery. Or you could venture inland - a 16-mile drive across the island will bring you to Brodick Castle, a gorgeous 19th-century structure whose plot boasts a fascinating history that dates back to the 15th century. It also has elegant gardens set in acres of country parkland if you fancy a walk. Or, for the more adventurous among you, journey 19 miles to the foothills of Goat Fell, the Isle of Arran's highest peak, where you will find the best views of the area.

We have had a fantastic week at The Bothy and would highly recommend a stay there- it is comfortable and well equipped and the location and view are fantastic.. It's a good base for exploring Arran, and wonderful to be able to walk to the beach. The farm dogs are a fantastic bonus, and a nice pub in walking distance . Perfect.

The Farmhouse Bothy was perfect for my all too short stay on Arran. It's super-cosy, has everything you need, and the view out to sea is wonderful. Peter and Nicki are very welcoming, as our their many collies, who will happily take you for a walk to the beach. The location is great and I hope to return next year.

We will definitely be returning to the Bothy as Peter and Nicky were so friendly and welcoming and we felt really at home on the farm. The farm dogs were great, always pleased to see us and ready to go down to the shore with us. The produce from the farm - meat, eggs and veg - were absolutely delicious. A truly wonderful place.
