It's hard to imagine a more romantic setting. Inspired by the natural curves of a seashell, this breathtaking architect-designed holiday cottage on the west coast of Scotland is undoubtedly in a league of its own. Set amongst the stunning scenery on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, this home is an extraordinary luxury haven created exclusively for couples looking for the ultimate dream escape.

Utterly secluded on the side of a hill overlooking Loch Sunart in one of Britain's last great wildernesses, this exquisite eco-friendly, curved house is made of glass, timber and stone with a gentle sloping turf roof allowing it to blend seamlessly into the stunning Scottish landscape that surrounds it.

As soon as you step inside, the impressive design and blissful tranquillity will envelop you. The bright and airy fully open-plan living and sleeping space is thrilling, and the natural light and far-reaching views from the floor-to-ceiling windows are magical. This mesmerising room, curving round the central chimney with a circular open fire, features a stylish kitchen and living area which then wraps round to the hand-crafted wooden bed and onto the elevated double spa bath and rain shower. The beamed fan-shaped wooden ceiling, heated ceramic tiled floors and state-of-the-art lighting add to the joy of this wonderfully comfortable house. This is a fabulously cosy love-nest for two and the perfect setting for a romantic Scottish escape, special occasion or cherished honeymoon.

Outside, the gravel terrace with a stone-built BBQ and seating area is a delightful spot for soaking up the stunning views across the little tidal island of Eilean Mòr and over the loch to the mountains and glens beyond. A path leads down to a lawn where deer can often be seen quietly grazing, and the surrounding grounds are rich in wildlife including pine martens, otters and eagles.

Ardnamurchan, with its glorious sunsets and star-filled skies, is home to beautiful white sandy beaches and ancient woodland providing endless opportunities and enjoyment for those who love the great outdoors. Seals, dolphins and even the occasional basking shark have been spotted on Loch Sunart.

If you want a taste of Scotland, try the Ardnamurchan Distillery for an informative, exciting and personalised tour. There are a selection of tastings and tours on offer as well as an incredible history to learn about. The best part is it's just under half a mile from the property, so you can walk home afterwards.

There are plenty of beautiful beaches to be found on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. Just under 2 miles from this property is the sandy bay of Camas nan Geall. The bay lies to the west of the promontory Rubha Aird Slignich, and the east of Ben Hiant and Maclean's Nose. For extraordinary white sands, clear turquoise water and fabulous views of the Small Isles and Ardnamurchan Point, head to the magical shores of Bay MacNeil Beach (15 miles away).

To the west of Bay MacNeil Beach is the lighthouse at Ardnamurchan Point, the most westerly point on the UK mainland. The 8-mile drive down to the actual point is exceptionally scenic with plenty of wildlife to spot (16 miles away).

An unusual and stunning property. Furnished to a very high standard and very well equipped. Great views over the loch and a chance to see usually secretive wildlife. Located in a beautiful and still secluded part of the Highlands. A real experience to stay there which I can thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful location, views and the amazing wildlife outside the window, A visit to Sanna was beautiful lovely white sand and clear waters. We also found the hidden bridge and river near Dorlin Castle which was so peaceful and we saw a red squirrel very close to us. Most definitely the best holiday home we have stayed in.
