The land to the north of the property is unpopulated as far as the west coast, providing unrivalled scenery and exciting deer-watching opportunities. If you run out of wine or snacks, you won’t have to travel far as the wonderful town of Alness is located just 4 miles from your doorstep. Here you will find supermarkets, independent shops and friendly pubs.

The property itself offers a pleasant surprise for those looking for something unique. This self-catering cottage is set amidst the stunning rugged countryside yet the interior has a distinct modern feel. As you enter the cottage you will be welcomed by not only a welcome basket but also a bright and airy space that boasts fantastic countryside views from many of the rooms.

Visualise cream walls and sofas with natural wood elements and you may get an idea of what’s in store. Despite the clean and contemporary style, the open-plan lounge is a homely space with wood burner and flatscreen TV, perfect for cosy evenings during the colder months. The kitchen/diner forms part of this space, offering modern appliances with a table and chairs. There is a double room on the ground floor which can sleep up to two guests.

Outside, there are several large patios surrounding the house on two sides; this is accessible from the lounge, bedroom and dining area. There is plenty of furniture here, providing the perfect spot for soaking up the sunshine in this green and sunny part of the northern Highlands.

This modern cottage is located in an area with ample opportunities for exploration. This area of Scotland is famous for fishing but offers far more. The land on the north side of the house is unpopulated all the way to the west coast but the pretty local town of Alness is only 4 miles away with two supermarkets, shops, a post office and banks. The city of Inverness is located approximately 27 miles from the cottage and easy to reach via the A9. This city is regarded as the ‘capital of the highlands' and has a wealth of attractions to explore including Inverness Castle and Abertarff House - Inverness' oldest building dating from 1592. Loch Ness is a further 30 miles from Inverness and an absolute must-visit for anyone exploring the Highlands. Question is... will you see the famous Nessie?

Beautiful sandy beaches are simply waiting to be discovered at Dornoch which is around 21 miles from the cottage and around Golpsie which is a little further afield (29 miles). There are beautiful spots for wildlife watching too along the shores of Cromarty Firth (23 miles). Tain is approximately 17 miles from the cottage and provides guests with an abundance of activities. This royal burgh and parish is steeped in dramatic history and boasts some pretty impressive architecture and a popular links golf course. Here you will also find ample shopping opportunities.

Whisky lovers can visit the nearby Dalmore Distillery, around 5 miles from the cottage for a true taste of Scotland. The Glenmorangie Distillery is also well worth a visit. This is approximately 16 miles from the cottage and it's open all year round for tours and tastings.
