This lovely cottage is situated in a peaceful and tranquil location on the edge of woodland, on the magical Isle of Arran. It is a perfect holiday spot for those wanting to get away from it all for a while and relax in the beautiful Scottish countryside. With room for five guests, this is the ultimate cosy cottage for getting out and exploring nature with the endless array of wildlife and birds nearby. The cottage is also just half a mile from Machrie Bay with its 9-hole golf course.

The property itself is across a single floor with a traditional and charming interior. Decorated in a neutral colour palette, splashes of coasting colours remind you of your island location.

The living room is a welcoming space and tastefully decorated in neutral tones. There is ample seating for guests and the room also has a dining table for six at the far end, making this a great location to spend cosy evenings eating and relaxing in front of the television. There is also an open fire for chillier seasons which you can gather around, perhaps with a dram of local whisky. The modern kitchen also has everything you will need to create meals – why not experiment with some of the produce found locally on Arran? Also on this level, guests can choose from a charming king-size room, a cosy twin (which can be made into a super-king) or a single bedroom. All rooms are fresh and stylish and promise a restful night’s sleep.

A door from the kitchen leads to the garden which comes complete with garden furniture. There is also private parking available. To the front of the property, there is a picnic bench where you can sit and enjoy an afternoon tea or morning coffee in this beautiful setting.

Arran is a real haven for walkers and this property places you in a prime position to discover all there is on offer from this great island. Enjoy beautiful scenery wherever you go as you venture along quiet roads either by foot or on two wheels (or four paws!) Keen wildlife and landscape photographers will be in their element here as there is a stunning vista at every turn as well as an abundance of wildlife. If you need a bit more expert tuition in this department, you can take a day or a half-day course at Arran in Focus, which is based in Lamlash, around 12 miles away.

Otherwise you can explore sandy beaches and enjoy feeling the wind and spray in your hair, take to horseback, trek forest trails or head to Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park (10 miles) which has a wealth of things to do and see including gardens, waterfalls and the castle itself, as well as the Isle Be Wild adventure play area where younger ones can burn off some steam. You can also take part in a 36-mile treasure hunt on the island – a perfect way to spend a few hours and see some great sights along the way; complete it in the car, or if you’re feeling fit you could cycle the route.

If a round of golf is more your thing, the charming Machrie Bay Golf Course is located just one mile away where you can enjoy a round of 9 holes beside the sea.
