Inside, this period property has been tastefully modernised to create spacious and bright accommodation fit for 21st-century family life. Rustle up delicious meals in the fantastic kitchen/diner, with its bespoke units, sociable breakfast bar and comfortable stools designed for sociable entertaining. The inviting dining area sits beside a feature stone fireplace with views over the garden. Located on the first floor, the spacious lounge has something for everyone. Relax beside the wood burner in the electric reclining chair with massage program, enjoy your favourite film on the TV/DVD player or play a competitive game of pool or a board game. Two delightful bedrooms, both with ample storage space for making yourselves at home, are positioned at the front of the house and share a stylish modern bathroom.

Set in the heart of Ayton, this property is just a short stroll from the local shop, pub, restaurants and bowling club. Originally a medieval tower house, Ayton Castle (0.5 miles) is now open to the public for guided tours and boasts a tea room and busy line up of annual events. Keen walkers can set out with four-legged friends along the Berwickshire Coastal Path, stopping at neighbouring Burnmouth (2 miles), Cockburnspath (12.5 miles) and Coldingham (6 miles) for refreshments along the way. Take to the beach with a visit to St Abbs (6.5 miles), Pease Bay (13 miles) or Eyemouth (2.5 miles), all of which welcome dogs. The historic fishing town of Eyemouth is home to a pretty harbour, leisure centre, golf course and museums. From here, take to the waters with a thrilling sea safari RIB trip, taking in the stunning Berwickshire coastline and its resident seabirds and seals. To get even closer to the water, the pretty seaside village of St Abbs hosts a dive centre, which welcomes all abilities and experience levels. Or if surfing is your thing, nearby Coldingham Bay is the place to be.

We have just returned from a great 4 night break at this lovely cottage. We were blown away with all the thoughtful touches included, from the welcome basket with bread, crisps, coffee etc to the milk and fresh orange juice in the fridge to the toothbrushes and cute toothpaste given, really everything you would need to start a break away from home.Read more We loved the games and the pool table, that gave us endless fun and great quality family time! What a lovely place to stay. Couldn't fault it. Have stayed in more expensive locations than this with less provided. Great hosts. We will hopefully be staying again to explore more of the area.

Fabulous spacious cottage in lovely village location with easy access to many local beauty spots. Well equipped for families and very dog friendly. Super games room and lovely comfortable beds. Kitchen has everything you need and the welcome pack was brilliant. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely week staying in Sawmill House, Mr & Mrs Mclachan gave us a very warm welcome, and explained about a few things round the house. Fantastic cottage. Spotless and everything you could want to make your holiday perfect. Although we were there in summer, there was plenty to keep you occupied on rainy days, like the pool tablet, a Wii, lots of DVDs and board games for children and adults. Top accommodation and location. The cottage is spacious and beautifully presented; it has quality fixtures and fittings and is spotlessly clean. religiously went to Centre Parcs for past 14 years and kids are grown up and out of it. This cottage was home from home, attention to detail was excellent and not a fault to be had. I would 100% recommend this cottage.
