Cosy hideaway in the lovely village of Blairmore, located on Loch Long. Perfect romantic escape for a couple looking to enjoy the beaches, history, leisure activities and explore the great outdoors that Argyll has to offer.

This romantic bolthole is set on the edge of Loch Long, on the Cowal Peninsula, providing you with endless walking opportunities and a whole host of outdoor activities. Enjoy diving or fishing out on the water or pull on your hiking boots and take on one of the surrounding Munros. The cosy property sleeps two guests and also welcomes two canine companions. After a long walk, return to your waterside hideaway to enjoy a relaxing glass of wine on the deck overlooking the loch.

The warm and inviting lodge has underfloor heating throughout and has a homely feel, with cute accessories and artwork adorning the walls. Neutral tones create a calm environment and flashes of colour in the soft furnishings bring each area to life.

Enter the property into the hallway, where you can store your boots and coats, and into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Snuggle together on the plump sofa to watch TV, after enjoying a romantic meal for two in the dining area. The kitchen area has been carefully configured and includes a small electric hot plate and microwave oven, so you can rustle up tasty breakfasts and light bites. When the day is done, retire to the relaxing bedroom with its inviting sleigh bed. The property also has a stylish shower room.

Patio doors from the living area lead out onto the beautiful decked area, which boasts magnificent views over the water. Fire up the BBQ for an evening of al fresco dining under the stars, whilst your four-legged friend plays on the adjacent lawn. Private parking for two cars is available on the shared drive.

Wander down to the shores of Loch Long, where you can enjoy a peaceful pre-breakfast stroll along the water’s edge, or a spot of fishing for your supper. The area is also popular with divers, who flock to the area to explore the loch’s rocky reefs and silty bottom, along with the vast array of local wildlife.

Walkers and climbers will be in their element, with the heady heights of Beinn Mhor just 11 miles away, providing spectacular views across the Park. Puck’s Glen (5 miles) is another must for keen walkers. Make your way through the deep, wooded gorge, surrounded by towering Douglas firs, to view a series of stunning waterfalls.

Your nearest beach is Lunderston Bay (13 miles), where you’ll find a vast expanse of golden sand. The beach is dog friendly all year and there are some dramatic coastal walks that branch away from the bay.

Heading south, you’ll soon reach the attractive town of Dunoon (9 miles), the main resort on the Cowal Peninsula. Potter along the high street, browsing in the cute boutiques and galleries, before grabbing a coffee and homemade cake in one of the independent cafes. From Dunoon, a short ferry ride takes you to Gourock, meaning you can enjoy a day trip to the lively city of Glasgow.

It is very snug. Bedroom ok & comfy (not romantic or sleigh bed!), bathroom ok if shower only warm. The living space is a badly laid-out kitchen with a sofa. No oven, no freezer, hot plate didn't work and the toaster sets off the fire alarm every time. You have to do some self catering here as local pubs are not open all week even in peak season. GRead morearden is reasonably enclosed for a small dog that's not too intent on escape. Burdock in garden caused dog to get covered in sticky balls (July). Hide
