Get away from it all to this luxurious stylish lodge, one of three, with open fronted, private, housed hot tub and spacious decked area, enjoying magnificent sea views over the surrounding countryside

Situated in a fantastic spot overlooking the Firth of Clyde, this is one of a delightful group of three bright and cosy bothies offering stylish accommodation. Making a quirky, welcoming and romantic retreat for two, the bothy is located on a 370-acre working beef and sheep farm, with spectacular views which you can take in from the soothing comfort of a private, covered hot tub. With the three internationally-renowned golf courses of Turnberry within 3 miles, this is a wonderful getaway for keen golfers. This refreshing, inviting and relaxing property makes a lovely base for a tranquil holiday, with the majestic Galloway Forest Park a few miles inland, and stunning views across the sea to the Isle of Arran.

The open decked area leads you into the light and inviting open-plan living area of this chic and appealing bothy. You can curl up on the comfortable sofa at the end of a great day out, and spend an evening catching up with a good book or watching a favourite film on the TV. The thoughtfully-designed kitchen area is kitted out with a range of equipment so you can prepare all your favourite meals. There’s also a useful dining area at the centre of the room which provides the ideal spot for a romantic dinner. The bothy also offers a cosy double bed and a handy shower room complete with shower and WC.

Outside, the spacious decked area provides beautiful far-reaching views over the Firth of Clyde and towards the craggy granite islet of Ailsa Craig and the majestic Isle of Arran, along with the Mull of Kintyre and Northern Ireland. The covered hot tub is perfect for relaxing in, and you can also enjoy a BBQ. Ample off-road parking can be found next to the lodge.

This attractive and relaxing bothy is perfectly located for visiting the pretty village of Turnberry (3 miles), which is home to three famous links golf courses and a well-known golf academy. There are also some excellent places to eat and drink in Turnberry, including independent restaurants, tea rooms and specialist whisky shops. Exploring the Turnberry area, you will find a number of attractions and landmarks including the lighthouse which dates back to 1873, Souter Johnnie’s Cottage and the remains of the ancient Turnberry Castle. Heading a little further north up the coast is the famous Royal Troon Golf Club (24 miles). Along the Ayrshire coast there are numerous historic castles and ruins, including Dundonald, Dean, Blairquhan, Kelburn, Dalquharran and Portencross, the nearest being the majestic 18th-century cliff-top Culzean Castle and Country Park (7 miles). To the south is the bustling burgh of Girvan (5 miles) which has a variety of fine restaurants, shops and cafes, and is home to the McKechnie Institute and Stumpy Tower – a museum on the site of a former prison. From the harbour in Girvan, you can join a boat trip to explore Ailsa Crag, which is the home of 40,000 gannets, or you can catch a ferry to the glorious Isle of Arran. There are also miles of beautiful walks to explore along the Ayrshire coastline, or you could strike inland to discover wonderful woodland trails and country tracks through Galloway Forest Park (20 miles).

Excellent place for a weekend break, well equipped, clean and the sea view while still being in the middle of the countryside is perfect, private outdoor hot tub and the surrounding decking is top class!

We had a lovely relaxing break at Pirleyhill Pods. The pods are in a beautiful location with a sea view - perfect spot for a sunset. The lodges are in a great location. Fantastic views with peace & quiet apart from the birds chirping & the Cows mooing. Such a lovely place. Even in the rain. Hot Tub has shelter so still allows use while it's raining and great when the sun came out. Great watching the sunrise & sunset. The owners couldnt do enough for us they went above and beyond, Stuart was just a call or a text away if you needed any help or advice about anything. Perfect location if you want to get away from the city life with a lot of walking trails boat trips to isle of aaran or to Alisa Craig. All in all a perfect little get away.

We had a fantastic stay and were delighted to find a bottle of Prosecco and a carton of milk in the fridge... perfect. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Very friendly welcome and they couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely recommend Pirleyhill Pods to anyone.

Me and my wife had the best 4 days away in penkill pod, the hot tub is so relaxing with a really nice view, there are some really good places to go for food or you can get it delivered to the pod, the owners are so nice and if you need anything they are there, we will be booking again in the future

We stayed at Penkill Lodge, it was nice inside and the location was surreal, very isolated. The hottub was great too. We had a very fun long weekend here. This was a really nice place to stay for a few days, the views are lovely and the property is clean and accessible. Its private and you're left alone to do your own thing but the owners are on hand should you need anything. Would highly recommend.

5 star accommodation at the top of a hill. Spectacular views ... from the hot tub ... and sunsets too. The lodge had everything you need for a pleasant stay. The water was piping hot, the shower was excellent and lighting, oven, fridge/freezer and wifi worked perfectly. I could not fault this. The owners are on site and are happy to help you with aRead morenything. They equally respect your privacy and leave you to it unless you wish to speak to them. Such a peaceful place with gorgeous views over to Arran. We had a mixture of weather from blue skies to driving wind and rains. The pod is amazingly well insulated and even in the high winds was quiet and beautifully warm. The hot tub was hot and clean - just like everything. Great hosts - and cows and sheep visit along the fence. WiFi was ok and eRead morenough to stream Netflix etc without issue. Girvan is about 10mins down the road with a good sized ASDA/ pharmacy / petrol etc. Hide
