Surround yourself in the incredible, untouched beauty of the Highlands at this traditional lodge in Wester Ross – a majestic region of iconic mountains, rushing waterfalls and crystal-clear lochs. Offering wonderful river views, the lodge sleeps eight people over five bedrooms and welcomes two dogs - making it the ideal Highland hideaway for families or groups of friends. Spend your days hiking and biking across this glorious landscape, or go further afield to explore Inverness or the Isle of Skye, Stornaway or Lewis. Back at the lodge, enjoy formal dinners in the dining room and spend your nights relaxing with your loved ones in front of the glowing wood burner.

If you hold tradition close to your heart, you will adore this quaint Highland lodge. Decorated and furnished in a manner befitting traditional country lodge living, and highlighted by authentic features like exposed stone walls and large picture windows, this property is everything a traditional Highland lodge should be.

Step inside, kick off your hiking boots in the spacious hallway, and make your way through to the lovely farmhouse-style kitchen. Cook up a feast for your loved ones and gather everyone around the breakfast table to eat. Alternatively, make your dinner a more formal affair and eat in the impressive dining room, which offers lovely country views. After dinner, head to the spacious living room, which boasts a large feature window with gorgeous loch views. There, you can slip onto a sofa and warm your toes by the wood burner while you catch up on all your favourite TV shows. When the day is done, you’ll find three comfortable twin bedrooms – including one with superb loch views – down the hall. A bathroom completes the ground-floor layout of this lovely lodge.

Head up the stairs to the first floor and you’ll discover two comfortable single bedrooms that have beds that have been built up from the floor and have additional steps up to the mattresses.

Step outside, and you’ll find a wonderful fully enclosed garden with outdoor furniture. It’s a lovely place to sit and relax as you enjoy a glass of wine and take in the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings. Walk down the hill and you have direct access to the river just over the boundary fence. Please note, that there are sheep surrounding the property, so dogs must be always kept under control. Parking for four cars is available on the gravel driveway.

Beautiful Achnasheen is home to a pub, cafe and village shop all within 2 miles, but a 1-mile ramble will bring you to the stunning mirror-like Loch a’ Chroisg, a deep glacial loch surrounding by snow-topped hills and barren countryside. Marvel at the mountain scenery as you venture to Kinlochewe 8.5 miles away and Torridon 19 miles away, or head to Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve 11 miles away. A treat for outdoor enthusiasts, you’ll discover a plethora of trails through mountain peaks, pinewoods and along the shores of the inspiring Loch Maree, arguably Scotland’s most scenic Loch. Look out for golden eagles, crossbills and other rare species of wildlife as you explore, pausing your explorations to enjoy a picnic lunch with a view.

Great view. The last evening a whole flock red deer was grazing right next to the backyard. The shower (not shown in the pictures) is refurbished and works absolutely fine. Kitchen is well equiped and a pleasure to cook in.

Only 5 of us for our fishing trip this year but we still had a fantastic time. The house and it's amenities are first class. This is our 4th or 5th time at this house and each time is as as good as the last. We hope to be back next year, lets hope the fish turn up too.....
