Treat yourself and your family or friends to a stay at this impressive Scottish country house, set within immaculate grounds, some 2 miles from Langholm. Up to four people, plus a pair of very contented canines, can experience the magic of a stay at this handsome home, which was once a baronial mansion. Explore this verdant corner of Scotland, close to the border with England. Enjoy the scenic Esk Valley on foot or by bicycle and return to your two-bedroom holiday home, set within your own private wing, to light the fire or unwind in the sunshine.

Make your way into your welcoming abode via the indoor courtyard. Let yourselves into the hall and wander through into the lounge to stoke up the fire and gaze out across the garden towards the fields. Plan your evening’s viewing on the Smart TV; read your book for a while or chat through your plans for the following day’s adventures. Amble through into the bright kitchen/diner to make a homecooked dinner then take in the leafy view through the window in here as you enjoy it.

Climb the stairs up to the first floor to choose between the king-size bedroom and the twin. The family shower room is also at this level. Take in the wonderful views in the morning as you enjoy your first cup of coffee of the day.

Enjoy relaxing out in the indoor courtyard with a cup of tea and a slice of cake after returning from your long walks. Find a useful boot room here too, where you can leave your jackets, books and any other hiking gear. Wander out into the shared garden to bask in the sunshine on summer days and to cook supper outside on the BBQ. Find plenty of parking at the country house.
