Perfect for a family break or escaping with an adventurous group of friends in Argyll and Bute, this home is in the bustling bayside town of Oban which has plenty of amenities. Head out on foot and discover plenty of walking routes or visit popular attractions in the area.

This bright and light cottage is spacious and has everything you need for your holiday. Whether you want to socialise together as a group or enjoy taking time out relaxing, there is plenty of room for everyone.

Head into the kitchen which has everything you need for preparing breakfasts, lunches and dinners. A separate dining area boasts a large window which looks out onto the bay – take a seat in here and enjoy playing evening board games together after a busy day exploring. Relax on the sofas in the lounge in front of the warming wood burner and flick on one of your favourite films or TV shows. One of the double bedrooms is on the ground floor which also has stunning bay views from the window. Finishing the ground floor, is the single bedroom and bathroom with bath and WC.

Upstairs is the fabulous master double bedroom. It doubles up as a second lounge with a further wood burner and sofa. The shower room completes the interior of the property.

The lounge has a door leading out to a cosy balcony with seating, a lovely spot for a morning coffee while watching the boats come and go in the calming waters. Outside and to the rear of the property is a shared courtyard with seating, where you can enjoy a glass of wine, al fresco dining or simply soak up the sun with a good book.

Oban town has an excellent range of independent shops, an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and pubs, as well as a fantastic leisure centre and golf course. From here, take a boat trip to one of the surrounding islands, enjoy a fishing trip or try to spot whales, dolphins and seals.

If you are more of a history lover, there is plenty around here to whet your appetite. McCaig’s Tower is just 1 mile away. The prominent landmark dates back to the late 1800s and has a fabulous viewpoint platform. Just across the road from the property is the Oban War and Peace Museum containing a wide range of artefacts and cultural history. Alternatively, head 1.5 miles to Dunollie Museum and Castle. Set in enchanting woodland, there are plenty of grounds to explore and history to immerse yourself in.

There is plenty for walkers and cyclists, too. Pulpit Hill Viewpoint is just 1 mile away. The hill rises above the south side of the bay and has a spectacular viewpoint with far-reaching views – enjoy a gentle hike up to the top. The Munro of Ben Cruachan is 15 miles away, a challenging climb that winds through some superb terrain. Stay closer to the ground at Loch Nell (4 miles), perfect for calm strolls and also a popular spot for trout and salmon fishing.
