This quirky and unique former Post Office dating back to the 19th century is perfect for a family getaway, with raised balcony, hot tub and splendid loch and Munro views to enjoy.
This stylish property is set in Fearnan on the north shore of Loch Tay, with stunning views across the water to the mountains beyond. It’s a peaceful village that enjoys a slow pace of life, and therefore the property is suited to relaxed family get-togethers and quiet gatherings with friends. The property’s piece de resistance is the raised balcony overlooking the loch, where you can enjoy a wee sundowner after a day of sightseeing. Take a walk to the local beach which is perfect for family picnics in the sunshine. There are numerous waterside and woodland walks directly from your front door, or head to Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve (9 miles) for mountain hikes and breathtaking views.
The quirky former post office has a reverse-level layout, fully maximising the stunning views over the loch. There are little nods to the property’s postal past, including a fabulous original post box in the garden! The holiday home is decorated in a contemporary style of neutral tones and homely accessories, creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
As you step into the ground floor of the spacious, detached property, you’ll find a vestibule to store all your outdoor gear, followed by three pretty bedrooms: two doubles and a king-size. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities, and there’s also an additional WC on this floor. Completing the ground floor is the handy utility room.
Heading upstairs, you’ll find the two remaining bedrooms (a double and a twin), as well as the stylish family bathroom. The main living area is located on the first floor. This magnificent lounge/diner is bright and airy, thanks to the French doors leading out onto the balcony. Sumptuous sofas are arranged around a Smart TV, and there is a large dining table where you can gather for memorable mealtimes together. The fabulous kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, with everything you need to rustle up a tasty meal for the group and stunning views of the loch and Munros.
As well as the raised balcony, there’s an enclosed patio where you can spend evenings under the stars eating fresh food from the BBQ or toasting marshmallows around the firepit. Off-road parking is available for four cars.
