Walking routes are in abundance from the village. Discover the Moffat Water Valley along the Grey Mare’s Tail Nature Reserve and visit the plunging waterfall. The Mamores mountains, part of the Grampian range, are 3 miles away where there are plenty of mountaineering, climbing and hiking routes. You will also be able to access the popular West Highland Way, a long-distance walk that runs through Scotland from Milngavie to Fort William – join a section of it and admire the undulating landscape and scenery.

Take a trip on the Jacobite Steam Train (21 miles), one of the most impressive railways in the world stretching 84 miles across the country, passing high mountains and low lochs, and crossing the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. You might recognise several locations around the area from films and shows including Harry Potter, Braveheart, and Skyfall.

The cabin was small, but exactly as described - comfortable, warm, clean, amazing views of the Mamore hills & easy access to the West Highland Way & numerous other trails. The hot tub was great, even in the autumn rain. The owners were friendly and happy to deal with any questions. Happy to recommend.
