This wonderful spacious house with a modern take on a traditional shooting lodge in the heart of the Scottish Highlands is the perfect getaway for family and friends.

This stunning five-bedroom, five-bathroom lodge, boasting a self-contained flat, is set in a tranquil spot in the Highlands, and offers views of incredible countryside scenery including rolling hills and undulating glens. Gather together with a group of ten friends or family members and enjoy hiking and cycling the local area, before spending evenings together socialising, playing games, and spending some well-deserved time relaxing.

Set among 6 acres of its own grounds, this home stands out among a stunning backdrop. Once a shooting lodge, this charming property has been thoughtfully renovated retaining its traditional charm with stylish and contemporary twists to make it a warm and welcoming holiday property.

The spacious downstairs lounge/kitchen/diner has stone flooring with underfloor heating, high ceilings, and panoramic views of the surrounding Highlands and the mountains of Strathconon in the distance. This is a great socialising space with a lounge area at one end, which contains a Smart TV and comfortable seating, as well as a large dining table with enough chairs for everyone. To the other end is a fully equipped and stylish kitchen with a centre island and an American fridge/freezer, perfect for preparing and cooking meals for all ten guests. There is also a handy utility room and a separate shower room and WC to the side of the kitchen. A second lounge area is back down the hall, which contains further seating and a warming wood burner, ideal for curling up in front of on chilly nights. Completing the ground floor is a king-size bedroom, which boasts an en-suite with a spa bath.

Heading upstairs, you will find a seating area and large shelves containing board games and books, as well as three further bedrooms which are all en-suites. There are two king-size bedrooms and a twin room up here, all offering wonderful views.

The self-contained flat can be accessed via the stairs in the utility room and is perfect for those who want their own space. It has an open-plan living space with a kitchen, a shower room, and a light and bright double bedroom.

Outside is 6 acres of private grounds that wrap around all four corners of the house. Children and big kids can play ball games on the lawn area, while you enjoy dining alfresco on the patio seating area soaking up the views. There is ample parking on the grounds and walking routes are available from the doorstep.

This superb location is ideal for groups who love to get active on foot or bike and explore the stunning, unspoilt scenery. Delve into the surrounding wildlife-rich countryside and spot the many rare and protected species that live in this area of the Highlands. The wonderful Black Rock Gorge is a lovely woodland walk with dramatic waterfalls and deep sandstone caverns, 4 miles away. You can also climb the Fyrish Monument (9 miles) which offers spectacular views over Cromarty Firth, mountains and lochs.

Head to the mountains of Strathconon and try challenging climbs up Munros such as Ben Wyvis (12 miles) and visit the national nature reserve surrounding the mountain. Enjoy the lovely waterfall walking trail at Black Water Falls, which is 20 miles away, or head to Loch Glass which is great for fishing and hiking (10.5 miles).

If you fancy days in the city perusing shops and eating delicious meals, 20 miles away is Inverness, a vibrant city with a range of attractions and amenities. Visit the fabulous Victorian Market, take a boat trip along Moray Firth and, on weekends in July, partake in or spectate the Inverness Highland games.

History lovers will enjoy a trip to Culloden Moor (24 miles), where the bloodiest battle in Scottish history took place in the 18th century, or spend a day at Urquhart Castle (32 miles), set on the picturesque Loch Ness.?

Amazing place and we would stay again. The house was very clean and welcoming. For families that like to cook the kitchen could have been better stocked e.g serving dishes, spoons etc We had an elderly person in the party and the only downstairs bedroom could have been better equipped e.g shower hand rail, chair TV. Couldn't find any shaver charging points (2pin) same for rechargeable tooth brush etc, so purchased an adaptor. Very minor point, but otherwise perfect and intend to return, hopefully next year

What a place to stay. Beautiful house with stunning views. I think we were the first family to stay here and we did so for two weeks. Sometimes when you are the first people you wonder what you will get as there are no reviews. Well fear not this place is certainly worth the money and I would highly recommend it .
