A traditional yet spacious property situated in a peaceful position down a quiet county lane in a beautiful village location, with large fully enclosed gardens, close to Scotland’s capital.

The stunning period property sits within 4 acres of land in the picture-postcard village of Lasswade. The village is 6 miles from the vibrant city of Edinburgh and has an excellent golf course as well as several independent eateries and cosy pubs. The spacious lodge sleeps six guests, making it ideal for a large family or group of friends. With vast rooms and a choice of social spaces, it’s the perfect holiday home for enjoying quality time together.

The detached, single-storey residence feels bright and airy, thanks to high ceilings, skylights, and lovely windows framing countryside views. The lodge is furnished in a traditional style, with little nods to its heritage in the tartan soft furnishings and Scottish landscape paintings adorning the walls. Statement furniture adds a sense of grandeur to each room too.

From the reception hall, enter the beautiful lounge, which has two picture windows and French doors opening onto the garden. On chilly evenings, light the open fire and curl up in an armchair with your favourite book. Continuing into the rear hall, you’ll find two twin bedrooms (which can be made up as super-king-size bedrooms on request), both with en-suite facilities. Also from here, you’ll find a cosy snug with a wood burner, where you can watch the Smart TV or play a game at the card table. Gather for memorable mealtimes in the dining room where musical members of the group can entertain you on the piano! Adjacent to the dining area is the attractive kitchen, with everything you need to cater for the group. The final bedroom – a king-size – enjoys rural views and has a stylish en-suite bathroom. Completing this stunning holiday home is a handy utility room and boot room.

Heading outside, you’ll find an immaculately landscaped garden. The area is fully enclosed, making it ideal for children and dogs, and features a large lawn and countryside views. In addition, if unused you’ll also have access to an enclosed field directly from the garden, where the dogs can enjoy a game of fetch, as well as a secure kennel should you need it. There is a choice of outdoor seating areas, along with a BBQ for al fresco dining. Ample private parking is available at the property.

  • 3 bedrooms – 2 twin zip-and-link beds (which can be made into super-king-size beds on request) and 1 king-size
  • 3 bathrooms – 2 en-suite bathrooms with shower over bath and WCs, 1 en-suite shower room with shower and WC and 1 separate WC
  • AGA, electric oven with gas hob, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, food processer and Alexa Bluetooth speaker
  • Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer
  • Open fire and wood burner (first basket of logs included)
  • Smart TV in snug and TVs in all three bedrooms
  • Trouser presses and hairdryers in all three bedrooms
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • Fully enclosed gardens with seating areas and BBQ
  • Secured housed outdoor kennel for dogs and secured bike storage available
  • Ample off-road parking is available
  • Pubs and restaurants 0.5 miles, shops 1 mile and beach 6 miles
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at ÂŁ20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of ÂŁ250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for ÂŁ30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

A 6-mile journey will bring you to the centre of Edinburgh. Explore the city’s fascinating history with a stroll around Old Town, where you’ll find the imposing castle and iconic Royal Mile. Round off your day with a climb to the top of Arthur’s Seat for panoramic views across the city followed by a wee dram in one of the many whisky pubs.

Pull on your walking boots and head deep into the Pentland Hills (5 miles), where you’ll find 60 miles of tracks and trails to explore through ancient woodland, across moorland, and around reservoirs. It’s also a great place for horse riding, skiing and fishing.

Alternatively, hop in the car and head to the coast. North Berwick, 23 miles away, is the perfect place to slip into a slower pace of life. Peruse the quirky boutiques and galleries, before grabbing a bag of fish and chips and heading down to the rugged beach to admire the stunning views across the Firth of Forth. You can also take boat trips around the local islands from here.

We really enjoyed our stay in Inveresk Lodge. It was very comfortable and convenient for Edinburgh. We were also close to food shops and some nice places to eat.

The cottage is wonderfully situated - in the middle of nature, but still close to all the Edinburgh sights. We loved it there! And our dogs too! :-)

This was the perfect choice when compared to pet friendly hotel prices in Edinburgh centre. A beautiful cottage, surrounded by greenery, with everything you need. Very comfortably furnished and decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped. A beautiful garden surrounds the house. The rooms were warm enough. The kitchen has a great oven that runs around the clock.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Dunesk Lodge. Very comfortable accomodation, well equipped, with a lot of space for everyone (6 people).
