Sleeping four guests, the property makes the perfect couples’ retreat or base for a small family looking to switch off and recharge in the beautiful surroundings of Highland Perthshire. There are several pretty villages to visit nearby, including the historic Blair Atholl (2 miles), and a plethora of walking tracks and trails to explore. The detached, single-storey cottage is in an elevated position and its dual-aspect windows offer spectacular views of the surrounding glen. The contemporary property has a homely feel with a beautiful collection of soft furnishings and creature comforts.

Enter the cottage into the spacious kitchen/diner. The kitchen is a joy to cook in, thanks to the magnificent mountain views from the window, and has a table and chairs for sharing mealtimes together. The bright lounge has dual-aspect windows and yet more spectacular views. Unwind on the plump sofa to watch a film on the TV or curl up in the armchair with a good book. On chilly evenings, fire up the wood burner to create a cosy atmosphere. Two inviting bedrooms – a double and a twin – complete the property, along with a family bathroom.

Outside, a mature, enclosed garden wraps around the cottage. A stunning decked area provides the ideal spot for dining outside or relaxing with a glass of wine, whilst admiring the scenery and looking out for red squirrels, who regularly pop by to say hello. Soak up the history with a visit to picturesque Blair Atholl (2 miles). Wander amongst the pretty stone buildings, stroll along the river, and visit the magnificent Blair Castle. Dating back over 750 years, the castle has long been the gatekeeper to the Scottish Highlands. Explore its 18th-century interiors and Scottish baronial architecture before taking a walk through the impressive grounds, walled garden, and red deer park.

Just outside Blair Atholl you’ll find the House of Bruar. The shopping centre specialises in quality goods and produce from throughout Scotland and is a great place to pick up gifts and souvenirs from your Scottish adventure.

The Enchanted Forest (8.5 miles) is a fabulous family attraction. The magical light show, set to music, takes place in the depths of Faskally Forest near Pitlochry at various times throughout the year.

If you fancy trying a wee dram during your holiday, you’ve come to the right place! Both Blair Athol Distillery and Edradour Distillery are within 10 miles of the cottage.

For a great range of independent shops and eateries, take a trip to the bustling towns of Pitlochry (8 miles) or Aberfeldy (29 miles).
