A bright and spacious retreat that sits in an elevated position over the seaside town of Oban, this is a wonderful location for a large family or group to enjoy together. The property sleeps up to eight guests and offers attractive open-plan living with scenic views across to Ben Crouchan from the lofty heights of the garden. Take in the tranquil scenery as you sit back with a dram in hand and perhaps something cooking on the BBQ, before retiring to the large lounge and gathering in front of a crackling fire. Or sit yourselves around the large dining table for an evening of games set against the backdrop of breathtaking scenery. The property is conveniently placed within 1 mile of the centre of Oban which is not only known as the “seafood capital of Scotland” but provides a wonderful base for engaging in a number of outdoor activities, including boat trips and island hopping, paddleboarding and scenic flights over the inspiring maritime landscape.

Step inside the property which is a reverse-level house with an open-plan living space enjoying the best of the spectacular views from its elevated position. A contemporary property with light and airy interiors, the big windows and treetop scenery lends itself perfectly to the simple and uncluttered modern interior style which has been creatively considered throughout; it offers a comfortable base for all.

Upon entering this attractive home-from-home, you step into the landing and follow the hallway through to its open-plan lounge and dining space. A generously proportioned room with almost wall-to-wall windows on the longest stretch of wall, here you can enjoy incredible views of the lush Ben Cruachan mountains, over the bustling town and across the horseshoe-shaped bay. If you can tear yourselves away from the serene view, switch on the Smart TV to enjoy a movie and light the wood burner on a cooler evening, after a day of enjoying the outdoors. The dining table sits adjacent to the cosy seating area and is yet another great spot from which to enjoy spectacular views – quite the conversation starter over dinner. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, offering all you need to comfortably cater for yourselves during your break. Also housing a table for added convenience come busy breakfast times. Completing the ground floor level is a well-appointed bedroom with handy WC for added accessibility.

Downstairs there are a further three double bedrooms, all decorated in neutral, attractive schemes with carefully considered furniture, including a lovely seating area in one of the bedrooms, which has been positioned directly in front of the window for inspiring views. There is also a sumptuously presented family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, by the front door, sits a small bistro table and chairs, a great space to enjoy your morning coffee and at the front of the house, you’ll also see the gravel driveway with steps on either side of the property which lead you down the rear garden. A spacious patio area houses a picnic table and BBQ area, perfect for the days and evenings when you might want to dine alfresco, and to the side of the patio, there’s a swing seat that offers up delightful views. Just in front of this lies a lawned area with a shallow incline, a nice spot for children to play on.

It was Ideal for exploring the local area including the Isle of Mull, Fort William and beyond. This is a lovely house and we really did enjoy our stay here. It could do with better seating in the living room if you are a group of 5+ but hopefully this will be sorted out. The beds are very comfortable and the house is situated in a quiet spot so you'll get a good night's sleep. Our family really enjoyed staying here and would come again.
