The immediate vicinity is ideal for those searching for an action-packed break with plenty of water sports on offer nearby.

The cottage is light and bright throughout, with comfort and cosiness being the name of the game. The large windows have been strategically positioned to help bring the outside in and provide fantastic views of the bay. The living room, in particular, looks out onto the glorious sights of the Isle of Arran beyond.

When you step inside this charming property, you follow the hall through into the spacious open-plan living area. The lounge, with comfortable sofas, is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the views after a day out exploring the beautiful local area. You can watch a movie on the Smart TV or enjoy romantic or family gatherings in the dining area next to the windows, with those wonderful seascapes in sight. Cooking up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen is a pleasure, thanks to having everything you need for a self-catering stay. Continuing back through to the hall, you will find one double room and a bunk bedroom. Completing this property is a shower room with WC.

The cottage itself is in a quiet location at the southern end of Whiting Bay, but there are a couple of coffee shops and restaurants under half a mile away. Further north along the bay, there is a wide range of gift shops, restaurants, pubs, galleries and golf courses. It means that you don’t have to venture far to be well entertained or well-fed here.

If you do want to explore the island a little better, driving to Brodick 8 miles away is a good idea. It offers a variety of attractions and activities including swimming pools, a luxury spa, tennis courts, the Arran Heritage Museum and the popular Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park. There’s something for everyone.

The Isle of Arran itself is home to a dramatic landscape with mountain peaks, forests and a rugged coastline. It has so much character and is also home to several cultural festivals over the year, making it a great place to head even in the depths of winter. Foodies are well-catered for here thanks to the wealth of delicious local produce made on the island. The Arran Distillery is always popular where you can sample a dram of its malt whisky too.

Great location but very basic cottage with a general air of neglect -a little tlc would go a long way to bringing this cottage into the 21st century

Great location, kitchen is well equipped, good bathroom and shower. Beautiful view from living room. Nice garden and parking close to the door. We would return if it wasn't for the dampness and humidity in the bedroom in addition to the uncomfortable bed, because it was a very nice cottage by the sea.
