Property code: 89693

A modern, wooden house with a peaceful location that lends itself to getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, though there are shops and restaurants only a mile away. Sleeping six people in three bedrooms, you could easily have a family holiday here or host a get-together with friends.

The wooden exterior of this property is befitting of the surrounding woodland and national park. Inside, however, the house has minimalist interiors. It’s bright and airy, thanks to large windows making it light, even when the Scottish weather is a little dreary.

Behind its wooden exterior, you will step into the open-plan living space. The kitchen is well equipped so you can cook up a feast for family and friends. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table inside or outside on the decked area. There is a small study space next to the lounge if you do need to work in a quiet space. Feel the warmth of the floor underfoot as you make your way over to the lounge area to watch a film on the Smart TV. The wet room with WC is also located on the ground floor. From the sofa, you can look out onto the garden area which sits at the bottom of Craigellachie.

Upstairs, the accommodation on the first floor comprises two generously sized king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room with WC. The twin bedroom with a skylight, and a spacious bathroom with WC are also located upstairs.

The property’s garden is another social space to enjoy with friends and family. It has garden furniture to sit and have a drink as the sun sets or have your morning coffee and plan your activities for the day. And when you need to unwind, there’s a soothing Japanese hot tub and a sauna. Parking is easy here, with space for three cars.

  • 3 bedrooms – 2 king-size and 1 twin
  • 3 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with shower and WC, 1 bathroom with bath and WC and 1 en-suite shower room with shower and WC
  • Electric oven and hob and fridge/freezer
  • Utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • Wood burner (fuel provided)
  • Underfloor heating on ground floor, air source heat pump circulates fresh air upstairs
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • Large, enclosed garden with decked area and seating
  • Wood-fired hot tub and sauna
  • This property is set in woodland just off the A9 less than one mile to Aviemore
  • Private parking for 3 cars
  • Shops, restaurants and pubs 1 mile
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

The area surrounding the wooden cabin is ideal for nature lovers, thanks to being set in one of Scotland’s most spectacular national parks.

However, despite its rural setting, Aviemore is only a mile away which has shops, bars and restaurants for the times you do not want to cater when on holiday. The village also has many outdoor shops if you need to purchase any specialist equipment whilst away. It also welcomes the Harley Davidson Rally at the end of August each year, which is by far the biggest event of the year in the area. Lots of Highland games are held throughout many neighbouring villages during the summer months. They’re great fun, even for those who have never been before and are not entirely sure of the rules!

Even when no local festivals or games are on, Cairngorm National Park is a wonderful location which offers activities and sightseeing opportunities for all ages. There are water sports available at Loch Insh (6 miles) and Loch Morlich (7 miles), snow sports at Cairngorm Mountain, wildlife watching around Lochan Eilein (4.5 miles) and Rothiemurchus Estate (2.5 miles), and fantastic high and low-level walking and cycling routes across the area.

Wood haus was the perfect week of relaxation for us. Location is perfect, Within walking distance to the old bridge inn& centre of aviemore. But feels remote. Garden nice and dog friendly / secure. Kitchen had literally every gadget you could think of, and really organised clean utensils too! Bonus having washing machine too. Was decorated with XmaRead mores trees inside & felt really cosy and homely. Benefits from good wifi and massive smart tv with access to Netflix etc. Plan to return! Hide

A conveniently located property with easy access to Aviemore and the Cairngorm National park. It has a well equipped kitchen with extra towels and pillows provided if required. The guest manual was very informative and comprehensive.

The house was extremely comfortable and very warm. It was lovely to find a welcome pack when we arrived for both us and our dog; it was much appreciated after a long drive.
