Nestled on the Moray Coast in the charming fishing village of Buckie, this grand Victorian villa is perfect for friends and families who love to be outside exploring nature. Immerse yourselves in the area’s natural beauty with walks along the coast whilst looking out for the famous Moray dolphins. You may even be lucky enough to spot otters and ospreys too, so be sure to pack your walking boots, binoculars and camera. After an activity-filled day, head home to relax with a soak in the hot tub, some friendly competition in the games room or in front of the TV.

Original features, high ceilings, rich wooden tones and traditional furniture combine to create an impressive home, with high-end fixtures and fittings adding style and comfort.

Enter into the hallway, discard coats and shoes, and then head into the cosy lounge. Here, you will find comfy sofas and a TV. This is the ideal place for adults to relax, whilst the children hang out in the games room with its small pool table (and table-tennis top) and TV. Towards the rear, there is a well-equipped kitchen where the cooks can whip up a feast for everyone to be enjoyed in the spacious dining room. A utility room and shower room complete the ground floor.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms (two doubles and a twin) which are all good-sized and well-presented. There is also an additional small single room with a toddler’s bed and space for a travel cot. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room and there is another shower room and a bathroom, complete with a luxurious roll-top bath.

Outside, a private, enclosed patio is home to a hot tub – the perfect way to start or end the day!

Buckie itself has a lovely harbour and marina to explore with walks in either direction along the coast. It also has a few shops and eateries to choose from, as well as two golf courses and other leisure amenities.

Keen walkers will be spoilt for choice, with a range of well-known routes nearby, such as the Findochty and Portnockie coastal path or the Speyside Way that starts and finishes in Spey Bay (9.5 miles), a beautiful coastal reserve with the longest shingle beach in Scotland and known for its array of wildlife. From Portnockie, you can also get excellent views of Bow Fiddle Rock.

History enthusiasts may be more interested in a day out at Gordon Castle (8.5 miles), which includes walled gardens, a maze, children’s play areas and a cafe. For something more leisurely, head to other fishing villages along the coast, such as Cullen and Portsoy (within 13 miles) for boat trips, and traditional seaside fare fish-and-chips followed by ice cream. If the weather is kind and the sun is shining, pack your bucket and spade and spend the day on the golden sand Cullen Beach, one of many along this stretch of coastline.

Perfect property and perfect location for us. Sheila and John always on hand for anything we needed and were very thoughtful when we had to cut short our week due to a family emergency back home. Would highly recommend the house to stay in, lovely place to chill and explore the surrounding area.

The house was lovely and we appreciated the owner accommodating us at short notice as we were let down by a different holiday let the week before. It is in a good location to travel and visit the villages around Buckie. The games room was a hit with my family.

Westlea had everything we needed for a great holiday! The house was really handy for the town centre and provided an excellent base for our Moray Coastal Trail walk. The hot tub was particularly welcome at the end of each day, with spare towels and robes provided.

This is a really spacious house, it's well equipped and spotlessly clean. The outdoor space suited us really well, enclosed garden for the dog and ample storage for bikes and paddle boards. Hot tub is a good quality tub and we used it everyday of our stay. The shower downstairs had good pressure and always hot water, we didn't try the upstairs one.Read more The kitchen was really well kitted out and though we didn't do much cooking we definitely could have. Nice views from the upstairs rooms too. Hide
