Head through to the kitchen/diner to make yourselves a cup of tea to enjoy with a slice of Dundee cake or shortbread from a bakery in Ayr. Prepare homemade meals to eat at the table in here too, opening the French doors onto the garden on summer days. While away your evenings in front of a roaring wood burner and a good film on TV.

Venture off to one of the two inviting bedrooms to enjoy a good night’s sleep after all your adventures. There is a double bedroom and a twin here, together with a family bathroom and a shower room. The bathroom has a spa bath.

Venture 4 miles to Alloway to visit the National Trust for Scotland’s Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, where the celebrated poet spent his early years. Also see the famous Brig o’ Doon bridge that inspired his famous narrative poem, Tam o’ Shanter.

Head 13 miles to see the impressive Culzean Castle on the coast. Here you can wander through gardens and woods, along the beach, and take a guided tour of the castle that perches right on the cliffs. Children will love the outdoor play areas here.

Venture 24 miles from the cottage to Ardrossan to catch a ferry over to the Isle of Arran for the day. Explore the beautiful island landscape, visit Brodick Castle and Country Gardens and take a tour of the Isle of Arran Distillery. Delightful cottage, warm and cosy. Garden very safe for pets but close to quite a busy road once the gate is open.

The cottage was ideal for touring South Ayrshire and only a 15 min drive from Dumfries House which is a must visit. The road is a busy shortcut across country but a high wall and fencing keeps the garden secure for pets. A pity that the landowner of the estate does not encourage visitors with appropriate signage but loads to visit all around

A beautiful cottage in an equally beautiful location. The large, enclosed garden was perfect for our children and dogs to run around in. The hot tub was a added luxary! Loved staying here and we'll definitely be back.

Good location for visiting places of interest and walking sections of the river Ayr pathway. Dean Castle, Kilmarnock, worth visiting for significant collection of musical instruments and armour. Dumfries House and grounds should not be missed. Plenty of interest for fans of Scotlands great poet, Robert Burns.

Had a lovely weekend at the property but there was no internet access as listed. The hot tub was broken although we were allowed to use another on the estate. I had elderly parents with me and they found the property cold at this time of year. Even after heating the rooms cooled down quickly. Road can be busy and noisy.
