Head out to explore the Fairy Glen, a delightful, wooded glen with two waterfalls about 300 metres from the house. Rosemarkie village has a good choice of shops, restaurants, and cafes, around 0.5 miles away, and a selection of pubs to choose from. The village is also home to Groam House Museum, a must for anyone interested in ancient Scottish history and Pictish and Celtic art. It’s also home to the Black Isle brewery where you can enjoy a tour and taste their beers.

The Black Isle peninsula is a nature lovers’ paradise and an excellent destination for wildlife watching. Chanonry Point, just 2 miles away, is a popular spot to observe bottlenose dolphins and grey seals. Take your clubs with you if you fancy applying a round at one of the Championship Golf Courses nearby, Fortrose and Rosemarkie are both within 1 mile from the cottage.

Munlochy Clootie Well has a fascinating history and is worth a visit, about 7 miles from the cottage. You’ll see the brightly coloured rags as you approach – called the “cloots” – that have been dipped in the well in the hope of it curing an illness. Feel free to take your own offering! You’ll also find a pretty, woodland trail nearby that takes you around the Big Burn, where you’ll see stunning waterfalls and wildlife.

We had a fabulous time at Kincurdie Cottage. The welcome hamper and wine was very thoughtful and a chance to try some local produce from Fat Pigeon wine and Bakhoos cakes. The cottage is private and has views over the sea and you can star gaze from bed on a clear night which I loved. The beach nearby is a great walk and the Beach cafe and Crofters Read moreare a must try. Great crispy fish & chips at crofters. If youre going to Inverness Rocpool is the best in every way. Fairy Glen is great too! Hide

We had a fantastic stay and found the cottage to be extremely well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The welcome pack is exceptional and such a lovely touch. The location of the cottage is fantastic with the beach and local restaurant less than a ten min walk away. We had a fantastic holiday in Rosemarkie and will definitely return.

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location: very spacious, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Lots to see and do locally and a great base for touring more widely in the northern Highlands. The owners were tremendously welcoming and provided lots of useful information about the cottage and local area. Could not recommend more highly!
