This charming country cottage is the perfect place to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature. Located on a working farm in a stunning setting, this single-storey property is just 2 miles from Lunan Bay on Scotland’s beautiful east coast with excellent walking, cycling and golf nearby. It provides the perfect retreat for a couple, friends or a small family looking for a comfy base for their outdoor holiday.

The cosy stone-built cottage has stylish features, gorgeous country views and traditional charm. There are two bedrooms offering flexible sleeping arrangements depending on your party. Your canine companion is welcome (in certain areas only), plus there’s a large gravel area for parking with somewhere to sit and relax outside too.

Stepping inside you’ll arrive in the boot room, handy for leaving dirty boots, wellies, and coats, then go through to the galley kitchen, which has everything you’ll need to cook up some great scran. At the front of the cottage is the conservatory dining room which has lots of light and wraparound countryside views. The lounge is a lovely, relaxing space to unwind in after a fun day out, with attractive furnishings, a Smart TV, a cosy wood burner, and comfy seating. The larger bedroom is a super-king-size (that can be made up as a twin), it has an ornamental fireplace and quirky design pieces, and the second bedroom is a single with nautical design touches. There’s a family bathroom for guests to use with a shower over the bath for long, hot soaks at the end of the day.

Outside is a large, gravelled driveway with parking and somewhere to sit with your morning cup of coffee and plan the day’s adventures.

The cottage and farm are located between the towns of Montrose (9 miles) and Arbroath (7 miles). Montrose boasts a long, sandy beach and a historic town centre. Arbroath is possibly best known for Arbroath Smokies and the town’s harbour, where the smokes come to shore, is worth visiting.

The picturesque coastal town of Broughty Ferry (20 miles) and the city of Dundee (24 miles) are within easy reach. Both have excellent shopping and leisure facilities, as well as many tourist attractions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum and RRS Discovery.

If you want to get out into the great outdoors, you’re in the right place. The famous championship golf course at Carnoustie is 15 miles away. The secluded haven and 2-mile-long sandy beach of Lunan Bay is just 2 miles away – a great spot for swimming, walking, surfing and paddleboarding. If you’re lucky with the weather and it’s not too dreich, there’s also lots of space to sunbathe and build sandcastles.

Overlooking the bay are two places of interest: a sustainable whisky distillery that runs tours and tastings, and the crumbling ruins of the 12th-century Red Castle. Keen cyclists will love the roads and cycling trails in the area, and walkers have the choice of lots of footpaths and clifftop routes to explore.

Really nice cottage. Good parking. Well equipped kitchen. Good heating. Nice log burner with huge supply of logs right outside. Nice small conservatory for eating or just sitting looking at the view. Can see Lunan Beach from kitchen window. Probably a path to it but we went in car. Excellent beach.
