Fresh and bright interiors throughout provide a relaxing holiday vibe and there’s plenty of space to switch off and unplug inside in the spacious lounge and outside in the outdoor seating area.

Once inside, hang your coats in the handy cupboard and step into the lovely open-plan kitchen/diner. Cook up some hearty scran and after dinner head through to the lounge, which looks out over the garden. There’s somewhere comfy to sit and watch a movie or your favourite series on the Smart TV, play games together or while away the evening curled up on the sofa with a good book. On a bonnie day, you can throw open the door to the garden and let the sunshine in.

Upstairs, are the two light and bright bedrooms: a double bedroom and a twin. Both of them are comfy and cosy, and both also feature clothes storage and Velux windows. The family shower room is at the top of the stairs between the bedrooms.

Outside, there’s a private garden with a small lawn your children and dog will enjoy. If you fancy dinner alfresco, there’s a charcoal BBQ for you to use, and a seating area with an outside table and chairs.

There’s also a health club 1 mile from the cottage with two swimming pools, a health suite, and a cafe where you can choose to relax or pump some iron. Castle House Museum is also in the town and has amazing views of the Clyde. It tells Dunoon’s fascinating history through a number of exhibits from Neolithic times up to the last century.

The cottage is perfectly located for a true Scottish adventure. Catch a ferry to Gourock (5.5 miles) or wander around the beautiful 120-acre Benmore Botanic Gardens (7 miles) on the stunning mountainside. The cottage is in a great location if you like fishing, with Loch Eck (a 7-mile-long freshwater lake), Dunoon reservoir and Loch Loskin all close to the town and Loch Tarsan (10.5 miles away) to choose from.

There are lots of walks nearby, including the short climb to the ruins of Dunoon Castle, where there are brilliant views of the town and the Firth of Clyde. Argyll Forest Park stretches all the way along Loch Eck from the Holy Loch at Dunoon, a huge outdoor playground with stunning scenery, magical woodlands, and rugged countryside with numerous walking and cycling trails to explore. There’s a lovely forest walk from Dunoon esplanade to the Bishop’s Glen reservoir, about a 4-mile trip, with beautiful views.

Lovely modern cottage, well located for the sea front, supermarkets, fish and chips etc. and getting around. Nice and quiet in the evening. No direct parking but parking on the main road is free and we didnt have any issues. Beds and sofas really comfy. Thoroughly enjoyable place to stay.

Clean, basic accommodation. V near sea but area very run down. Kitchen well equipped but garden area un loved with next doors garden a complete eye sore so not very pleasant to sit in. Host helpful with places to go and handy for ferry but overall pretty overpriced given all these factors.

A comfortable traditional cottage with a contemporary finish, clean and well presented. We found it well placed for Dunoon and access to the ferry. However it does not overlook the loch and we measured 100 metres from the main road, not the 20m stated in the advert. It is also quite a steep climb up from the road to the cottage. No parking at the cRead moreottage but we had no problem parking on Marine Parade during our stay. The cottage has WiFi too which is not mentioned in the general description. Hide

We had a lovely stay at Stirling Cottage and a really enjoyable time in Scotland. The cottage was very comfortable, extremely well equipped, and in a great location. It was not too small for 4 Adults and a pup, the host is very helpful, very responsive and very informative - very happy to answer any questions and give some tips for what to do and wRead morehere to go. A lovely stay for a get away and a few days of remote working. Highly recommend! Hide

Lovely cottage, well presented and comfortable. On a personal note it would have been nicer to have a pub/restaurant closer. After a day spent walking we would have eaten out more if there was somewhere closer to eat. A great base for lots of walks, would highly recommend Puck's Glen!
