This comfortable two-bedroom lodge lies within a holiday park just 5 miles from St Andrews. It’s perfect for couples or a small family wanting to explore the Fife countryside and coastline. It also offers on-site facilities and activities and is perfectly placed for golfers with 50 courses in the area.

Steps lead from the ground up to the front entrance, and inside comfortable furnishings add to the homely décor. The lounge is an inviting spot while huge windows and floor-to-ceiling glass doors drench the space in natural, uplifting light. Relax and watch a film on the TV or put your feet up in front of the fireplace and gaze at the mesmerising countryside views. When the weather is good, you’ll want to push open the bi-fold doors and let the fresh country air breeze in. Overlooking the lounge is a dining table seating four people and a kitchen featuring all the modern appliances you’ll need to prepare a delicious meal. The two bedrooms are located off from the living area and feature a king-size bed and a twin bed. The rooms are a good size and splashes of colour make them cheerful and bright. The king-size bedroom features an en-suite bathroom and there’s also a separate family shower room.

From the living area, push open the bi-fold doors and step onto the decked terrace. Ease aching limbs with a dip in the hot tub or enjoy al fresco dining while admiring those far-reaching views. Alternatively, dine at the on-site restaurant or stroll around the landscaped grounds. Other facilities include a gym, sauna, and spa.

Hikers can enjoy forest walks straight from the door including the 1-mile walk to Cameron Loch. At the loch enjoy the 2.5-mile circular route around the water or for a longer walk in nature follow the path through Craigtoun Country Park to St Andrews (8 miles). In St Andrews take a stroll through the cobbled streets, browse the local shops and stop for a bite to eat at one of the many bars and restaurants. Afterwards, be sure to explore St Andrews Cathedral (dating back to the 12th century) and the nearby 13th century St Andrews Castle. Golf lovers can also play a round at the 18-hole Old Course, one of the oldest and most famous courses in the world. For a day on the beach head to West Sands (5.5 miles). It’s the largest beach in St Andrews and is popular with swimmers, joggers, and kite surfers. The northern end of the beach overlooks the Eden Estuary Reserve and birdwatchers can spend time spotting herons, kingfisher, and waders. Also worth a visit is Scotland’s Secret Bunker, located just outside St Andrews and 8 miles from the property. Hidden beneath a farmhouse and 100 feet underground, this Cold War bunker is now a museum and packed with artefacts and rooms including a radio room and armoury room.

Lodge was immaculate. Location was perfect for a bus trip to St Andrews. What is not to love about a hot tub. Food in the Godfather restaurant was amazing, and you have free, and private, use of the sauna and steam room, that was amazing and a definite bonus on a wet and windy Sunday afternoon. Staff at the reception were amazing, their answer to eRead moreverything was "No problem" or "of course you can" Cannot recommend highly enough. Hide
