Situated between Montrose and Arbroath sits this comfortable, end-of-terrace property. Surrounded by farmland and just 2 miles from Lunan Bay, it’s the perfect retreat for a family looking for tranquillity, long walks, and seaside adventure. Despite the rural location, there is a café and restaurant 2 miles away.

Distributed over one floor, a sense of homely comfort sweeps through the interior and large windows drench the space in natural light. A cosy sofa makes the lounge an inviting spot while a wood burner keeps things toasty on chillier nights. After a day out exploring, unwind with a drink or relax and watch a film on the Smart TV. When dinnertime beckons, a neat kitchen is equipped with all the appliances you’ll need to rustle up your favourite family meal and then serve it at the sociable dining table in the sunroom. Featuring banks of glass, the sunroom is also a lovely spot to take it easy and admire the countryside views or enjoy a spot of stargazing. Come bedtime, retire to the king-size, twin, or bunk bed. All the rooms are light and breezy and with nothing to disturb you, you’ll be sure of a good night’s rest.

In the morning, step outside and enjoy a coffee on the patio or sit in the garden and watch the sunrise over the fields. There’s also a barbeque for-the al fresco dining experience.

Lunan Bay is a lovely beach and a perfect spot for a swim, paddle or walk. This long sandy beach, backed by dunes, is also popular spot with horse riders and surfers. While here, try your hand at traditional fishing with nets strung on poles, or look for gemstones buried in the sand. From Lunan Bay, hikers can enjoy a 3-mile loop up to the ruins of Red Castle. The castle was once used as a fort to guard against Viking invasions and although it is now derelict the views from the top are stunning. For local amenities, head 6 miles north to the seaside town of Arbroath and browse its traditional shops. Be sure to stop at the pretty harbour and sample the famous Arbroath Smokie (haddock smoked over wood fires). This well-known delicacy even has its own trail and foodies can enjoy a 4-mile hike along the Angus coastline to Auchmithie. The trail details five locations that tell the story of the smokies including a stop at Arbroath Signal Tower Museum and the Bell Rock Lighthouse. For families with younger children be sure to stop at West Links Fun Park. It’s a great place and packed full of activities including an adventure playground, trampolines, and crazy golf.
