This attractive single-storey cottage on the Black Isle peninsula in Ross and Cromarty, with beautiful countryside all around, is perfectly located for exploring the Scottish Highlands. With a twin bedroom and a double, it’s ideal for friends or family who want to enjoy the great outdoors. It has a large secure garden with a fire pit and a BBQ for evenings under the stars, and you’ll find shops and pubs just 4 miles away.

The bungalow has stunning views from its lovely light and bright rooms and provides a welcoming home from home, somewhere cosy to relax and recharge after an exciting day out.

Arriving inside, you’ll come to the small hall where you can store your coats and boots, then you’ll find the open-plan kitchen/lounge. It’s the ideal space to spend time together cooking, chatting, or just relaxing. The room looks out onto the nearby woodlands where there are frequent bird and squirrel visitors. Pop something to watch on the Smart TV or put some music on the stereo and enjoy the views across the garden from the French doors.

Then head to the cosy bedrooms – a double and a twin – for a great night’s sleep. The double has a convenient en-suite shower room and there’s a family bathroom where you can have a good soak and revive tired muscles after an action-packed day.

There’s a big garden with somewhere to sit and enjoy the peace, as well as a fire pit and a BBQ if you fancy spending your evenings outdoors. Kids will love the large lawn, and the garden is secure, so they’ll be safe running around and playing. There’s also secure storage if you want to take your bikes or golf clubs away with you.

The small villages of Fortrose (9 miles away) and Rosemarkie (10 miles) are nearby, with some great cafes, pubs, and bakeries to visit and pick up ingredients for dinner or treat yourself to a meal out. The stunning links course next to Moray Firth at Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club is about 10 miles away.

While you’re playing a round you might see dolphins. If not, head to the narrow peninsula of Chanonry Point between Fortrose and Rosemarkie where dolphins can often be seen hunting Atlantic salmon. The cottage is well-placed for keen fishers and has access to many good fishing spots, with Black Isle being a peninsula surrounded by water on three sides and rivers nearby.

There are numerous beautiful walking trails and cycling routes nearby too. Wander along Rosemarkie Beach or head to Fairy Glen, a family-friendly walk through a delightful, wooded glen with two pretty waterfalls. Learn about the area’s history at the museums in the wee city of Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, just a short drive away (14 miles). If that whets your appetite, visit Culloden Battlefield (18 miles) and the visitor centre with a 360-degree battle immersion theatre. Unlock more stirring history at Urquhart Castle (30 miles away) – sitting on the shore of Loch Ness, it was once one of Scotland’s largest castles. While you’re there look out for the monster

We would 100% reccomend this cottage, you do need a car, the cottage is absolutely great, it has everything you need. If you are not used to living in the country I would suggest you take enough groceries for your tea that night and breakfast next day, there are plenty supermarkets, but a wee bit away, little local shop a couple of miles away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were very welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel very much at home.
