This elegant Victorian townhouse is in a peaceful village location and is an ideal choice for a gathering of family or friends. Set in the heart of Birnam, Dunkeld, this five-bedroom dog-friendly home boasts a Scots Baronial style with cosy features, a pizza oven and a ground-floor library for those who love getting lost in the pages of a book. Find peace, tranquillity and many outdoor activities on the doorstep of this fabulous holiday home.

Blending traditional charm with period features, distinctive period decor and generously sized rooms, the interiors in this house are truly something to gaze upon. This unique sanctuary maximises its rich Scottish heritage with one-of-a-kind antiques, tartan furnishings, heavy drapes, and dainty china sets for an atmosphere that adds that extra-special dash of luxury to your getaway.

Drop your walking boots off at the door and head into the ground-floor library to unwind with a glass of wine and a few pages of your favourite novel. This is unwinding at its finest! Strike up the electric fireplace when the evenings draw cold or get your blood pumping with a boogie to the jazz or classic tunes playing from the sound system.

The modern and contemporary kitchen is spectacular and offers guests everything they could possibly need for leisurely breakfasts through to formal dinners. A large Rangemaster, two ovens, a coffee machine, a rack of spices, and well-stocked cereals and grains are sure to get your head chef excited to get started. There's even a period butler's pantry across the hall for plating up on the fanciest china!

Once everyone is full, retreat to the drawing room on the first floor and cosy up in front of the gas fire. The children will be happy to escape the adults to the back of the house, which overlooks the courtyard garden and houses plenty of board games, a Smart TV and lots of pillowy seating.

When it's time to turn in, five handsome bedrooms can be found across two floors. Four king-size beds and one small double bed provide serene nights after long days of exploring, and all offer en-suite facilities for added privacy.

Venturing outside, you will find a beautiful, enclosed garden, so you can be safe knowing the children are nearby. The outdoor furniture is laid out for relaxing with a wee dram, while the table offers memorable al fresco dining during those balmier months.

Another lovely village that sits in this picturesque part of Perthshire is Dunkeld (0.5 miles). Walk along Atholl Street's variety of specialist shops or mosey along the river, which provides excellent views of Thomas Telford's Dunkeld Bridge. Remember to look out for the brightly coloured 'little houses' of Dunkeld, built over 300 years ago.

Get back to nature with a visit to The Hermitage (1 mile), one of the most scenic parts of Highland Perthshire. Follow in the footsteps of some of their most notable visitors, including William Wordsworth, Queen Victoria, and J M W Turner, as you wander through this stretch of magical Perthshire forest. For a circular route with spectacular views, follow the riverside path towards Rumbling Bridge, through more woodland and eventually, back to the car park. It's 2.5 hours of rustic woodlands and finished with a picnic with the whole group.

This is a really superb place. It's absolutely stunning with a great location; only a few minutes' walk into Dunkeld proper. It's quiet and very comfortable. An interesting house, warm and comfortable. Plenty of space to relax with friends. Central location in Birnam made it easy to access local facilities, and there is a lovely river walk that is accessible through the back garden gate. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful family reunion at Drummond House. There were nine of us (5 adults and 4 kids) and there was plenty of room to both get together and retire to our own spaces. We really enjoyed both the house and the location, with those fabulous walks at our doorstep. Would love to come back!
