Made from lovely wooden panelling and located on a busy working farm in the Clyde Valley, this enchanting cabin offers a wonderful base for a Scottish holiday. On your doorstep, you’ll have wonderful forest trails you can explore on foot or by bike, as well as plenty of interesting cultural and rural spots to discover as part of the Clyde Valley Tourist Route (10 miles). This holiday home welcomes groups of up to four humans and four canines – excellent for a family of dog lovers!

The charming property, one of six similar cabins is decorated in a simple style, with the wood doing all the talking. You’ll notice a distinct canine theme, which is unsurprising for a place with its own on-site dog agility training school. There are even special cushioned, non-slip floors installed so you and your pups can feel right at home.

Inside, the lovely open-plan living area is where you’ll spend most of your time, with its comfy seating, Smart TV and lovely views. Cook up delicious fare in the small but perfectly formed kitchen then sit down to family meals at the dining table, positioned next to the window so you can absorb the charming views. The cosy bedroom contains a king-size bed and separate bunkbeds, creating a perfect family set-up. Each morning, freshen up in the wet room before heading out for the day.

The outdoor space has an enclosed area with artificial grass and places to sit, as well as a private hot tub for relaxing with your loved ones as you admire the surrounding fields and woodlands. Children will love meeting the farm’s resident alpacas, goats and sheep and getting to know the owners' seven dogs. If you fancy an al fresco feast, hire out the indoor BBQ hut for a tasty party in the fresh air. There’s also an off-lead exercise field for dogs.

Whether you fancy a scenic drive, riding horses through pretty landscapes or delving into the rich history of Lanarkshire and the Scottish Borders, there’s so much to do nearby.

At Tinto Hill (4.5 miles), you can try your hand at trout fishing or climb up to the summit (8 miles) where you’ll be rewarded with 360-degree views over the Clyde Valley. The four-mile circular should take you about three hours to complete.

If you fancy a drink in a traditional pub or a slap-up meal, head to the historic market town of Biggar (5.5 miles). The town also contains a great local museum where history aficionados can learn more about the area’s archaeological, social and historic heritage.

You may choose to visit the locations along the Clyde Valley Tourist Route, which takes in breathtaking scenery, local wildlife, atmospheric castles and industrial heritage. The nearest spot to you is 10 miles away in Lanark where you’ll find a gorgeous 20-acre loch. Another popular site on the route is the Falls of Clyde Wildlife Reserve (11 miles), which is famous for its waterfalls and a great location for spotting bats, badgers and birds.

Chatelherault Country Park (20 miles) contains an 18th-century hunting lodge along with 500 acres of woodland and parkways you can explore, following 10 miles of routed pathways. Another option for a day out is Edinburgh (29 miles), which along with excellent restaurants and shops, contains a majestic fortified castle you can visit.
