Make yourselves at home in this charming semi-detached cottage with a hot tub, enclosed garden and panoramic views over Loch Fyne. Located in the picturesque village of Furnace, this traditional cottage makes a romantic retreat for two guests seeking a relaxing holiday hideaway.

Enter into this property, and find yourselves in the fully equipped kitchen/diner where a cup of tea or wee thimble of whisky is on the cards. Carry your drinks through to the earthy-toned lounge and put your feet up on the pillowy sofas. With a TV, French doors to the courtyard garden and plenty of seating, this is the ideal space to snuggle at the end of a brilliant day.

Heading back through to the kitchen, begin your preparations for a romantic meal for two and serve over glasses of wine and planning conversations for tomorrow. Down the hall, the utility contains a tumble dryer and drying rack for those damp coats and walking boots, while the kitchen holds a handy washing machine for running through murky towels. Upstairs, there's a bright king-size bedroom with a Juliet balcony overlooking the loch and surrounding countryside – an idyllic spot for your morning coffees. The cottage also has an invigorating bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and WC.

French doors from the lounge lead into the private courtyard garden, which features lovely patio furniture and provides a peaceful place to unwind or dine alfresco. The private hot tub is a wonderful addition to the accommodation and offers many evenings of bubbles with nothing but birdsong for company. There is private parking for one car.

The cottage is located in the heart of the village of Furnace, a pretty and flourishing village known for playing an important role in Argyll and Scotland's industrial revolution and for having a community-owned, well-stocked village store and takeaway. Wander over to the village bar in the evening for a tipple or two, or if you don't feel like cooking, order a takeaway and enjoy with the backdrop of Loch Fyne.

Crarae Garden is worth the 1-mile journey where you can immerse yourself in the tranquil woodland gardens, with spectacular year-round displays, tumbling waterfalls and fabulous Himalayan plants – thankfully, no yetis have been spotted to date! The lively town of Inveraray is within easy reach (10 miles) and has plenty of great shops, pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as fabulous views over the loch. The town is home to landmarks and attractions, including Inveraray Castle, Inveraray Jail, and the chance to climb to Dun na Chuaiche, an energetic climb with sweeping views of the castle and the glens beyond.

For a slower morning, drive to Lochgilphead (14 miles) or Crinan (21 miles) to watch the boats slowly come through the Crinan Canal while you enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of Dundee Cake.

Lovely stay for a long weekend. Property is right next to the Loch and you get a nice view from the upstairs bedroom. Huge hot tub out the back of the property, no view of Loch from here, but its a nice private area, not overlooked by anyone. The modern, fully equipped kitchen was important for us.

We enjoyed a weekend at this comfortable cottage. It is well placed for various walks and gardens, and if it rains there is Inveraray Castle and Jail nearby. Would definitely stay again.
