Loch Bay (1 mile) is perfect for wildlife and bird enthusiasts who can keep an eye out for seals, dolphins, and various bird species on one of the boat trips available from Waternish. There is also an art studio to that reflects how local artists capture the spirit of the landscapes.

One place not to be missed is Dunvegan Castle (7 miles), which is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and the ancestral home of the MacLeod clan for over 800 years. Explore the castle's impressive interiors, learn about the history of the clans and walk in the beautiful gardens.

Walking enthusiasts will love the magical vistas and cliff-top hikes at Neist Cliff & Waterstein Cliffs, both less than 20 miles away. A great family walk is from Claigan down to Coral Beach (11.5 miles) where you can see the crushed white coral that in the sunshine turns the water a turquoise blue.

Lovely views. Cottage was warm and beds comfortable. Good WiFi. Towels unexpectedly provided. On 1st night, we could not use hot tub as the water was too cold and the hut too dark. The next morning, the water was even colder. We had no phone signal but watched a YouTube video on how to fix it, so by 2nd evening we could use tub, though we had to usRead moree phone torches for light. There was no wood for a fire on 1st night. We bought wood next day so holiday was better from night 2 with hot-tub & fire. Hide
