The characterful, single-storey cottage is decorated in cool tones, creating a calm and relaxed ambience. The furniture is chic and minimalist and each piece has been carefully chosen with both style and comfort in mind. The main living area is open plan and dual-aspect windows flood the space with natural light.

Enter the cottage into the lounge/kitchen/diner, where you’ll find a stylish kitchen area with everything you need to whip up tasty feasts and a cute breakfast bar for informal dining. There’s also a large dining table by the window for hosting dinner parties and family celebrations. The property has two light and bright bedrooms, one king-size and one twin (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request). A family bathroom and a separate shower room complete the accommodation.

Outside, a large garden envelops the property, with a choice of seating areas so you can follow the sunshine throughout the day. On a summer’s evening, fire up the BBQ for memorable al fresco mealtimes under the stars.

The attractive seaside town of Oban is known as the ‘seafood capital of Scotland’. Head down to its colourful harbour, where you’ll find a great range of waterside restaurants serving the catch of the day, including Scottish mussels and freshly caught cod. After a bite to eat, why not pop into the local distillery for a wee dram of single-malt Scotch whisky? The town is a great base for those looking to explore the west coast by water, with many tour operators offering boat trips and sea safaris around the neighbouring islands.

The area of Argyll and Bute is known for its historic castles. Just 18.5 miles from Oban is the magical Castle Stalker, which is perched on an island surrounded by water. Throughout the year there are a limited number of boat tours around the privately-owned island. Another popular local castle is Dunstaffnage, 5 miles away. The castle is one of the oldest in Scotland and is steeped in myth and legend – be sure to add it to the itinerary.

There are some stunning walks in the area, including around Loch Etive (16 miles). This sea loch is surrounded by mountains and rolling countryside and is the perfect place to fully switch off and soak up the peace and tranquillity. If you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the loch’s resident seal colony.

For a day at the beach, head to Ganavan Sands (4 miles). This west-facing beach boasts magnificent sunsets, and you can also join the dramatic coast path from here, which offers far-reaching views of the Inner Hebrides.

I would be very happy to keep this gem to myself, but that wouldnt be fair on the owners who have put every effort into this fantastic cottage. Its rated 4 stars on the website, I dont know what you have to do to get 5 but it has everything you need for a very comfortable stay away from home. The quality of the fixtures and fittings makes the propeRead morerty feel expensive and the location just on the edge of the golf course make it feel rural but its an accessible walk into town. Would book again Hide

Faultless! The cottage is beautiful and has everything all of the highest quality. Probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. Even the kitchen knives were sharp - a rarety in holiday homes! Quiet location but within walking distance of the town center with shops, restaurants ect. Very helpful, friendly owner.
