Tennis, fishing, hiking and biking are just some of the pleasant pastimes on offer when you stay in this country cottage. Situated on the Avochie Estate in rural Aberdeenshire, this chocolate box cottage enjoys easy access to some of rural Scotland’s finest countryside walks, including hikes along the coastline less than 20 miles away. The property itself is a fabulous abode housing four guests and a dog, an ideal option for those visiting with young ones or as a group of four friends.

With stone-flagged flooring, original beamed ceilings and exposed stonework, this holiday home has been updated to enhance its traditional features whilst also offering contemporary comfort for the modern holidaymaker.

Experience the cosy embrace of the lounge as you enter on the ground floor. Soft seating in the form of sofas, armchairs and a window seat looking out onto the river allows you to relax with a wee dram and some great company at any time of day. Make use of the wood burner and Smart TV for those exceptionally cosy nights in. A kitchen/diner is located elsewhere on the ground floor, a spacious area with room for preparing dinners to be eaten inside or out. Adding to the functionality of the place, find a utility room with must-have laundry facilities and a full downstairs bathroom.

When bedtime calls, wander upstairs to find two bedrooms inviting you to enjoy an interrupted sleep. Both bedrooms are equally spacious and comfortable, and each has its own en-suite for your personal use. One bedroom is a double and the other is a king-size with a zip-and-link bed. Choose to have this configured as a twin or a king-size depending on your preference.

The grounds of the entire estate lay waiting to be discovered at your back door, allowing plenty of room to sunbathe and explore without venturing too far from home. Take delightful picnics down to the bank of the river and appreciate this idyllic scene or get stuck into a game or two on the tennis courts.

Fabulously equipped cottage away from it all on the River Deveron. Highly recommend. The photos don't do it justice.

A lovely well appointed cottage in beautiful surroundings. Ideal for those wanting away from it all as the nearest town is seven miles.
