Treat yourselves to a Scottish adventure in magnificent Moray. This enticing cottage is set on the Pitgaveny Estate, 3 miles from Elgin and 4.5 miles from Lossiemouth. Sleeping two guests, the one-bedroom retreat offers flexible accommodation to suit a couple or friends and also welcomes canine companions with open paws. Ideal for following the famous Malt Whisky Trail through glorious Speyside, it also provides the opportunity for wildlife watching and visiting historic castles.

Enter the stone hideaway via the pretty porch where you can leave your walking gear and outerwear before emerging in the splendid, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. A double-height space with a vaulted ceiling, this airy room will be the heart of your holiday home throughout your stay. Prepare tasty meals in the kitchen with the fresh Moray seafood you have sourced. Light the wood burner on chilly evenings then gather around to watch the Smart TV in its cosy glow.

The family shower room, where you can rinse under steaming hot water after winter excursions, is also downstairs. Climb the stairs up to the gallery above the main living area to find your inviting bedroom. This space has been cleverly arranged with zip-and-link beds that can be set up either as a super-king-size or twins by prior arrangement. Awake to picturesque views of your surroundings each holiday morning.

This Scottish retreat has both a front and back garden for your pleasure. Sizzle supper out in the fresh air on the BBQ during the warmer months then dine out on the deck. Open a bottle of wine to enjoy in the summer house when the weather is less clement. Arrange with the owner to wander through the orchard next to the cottage on sunny days.

A total dream for people wanting a quiet and beautiful space to hang out with their dog with countryside walks on your doorstep and wide stretching beaches a short drive away. We appreciated the inclusion of the baby gate to block the staircase as it's a dog no-go zone upstairs.
