Set just 3 miles from the market town of Kelso, this charming ground-level cottage is ideal for friends and families seeking an escape in the spectacular Scottish Borders. Berwick-upon-Tweed (21 miles) has four superb beaches, three military museums, an art gallery, a ruined castle and hundreds of years of fascinating history. Find marvellous Scottish beaches at Eyemouth and Coldingham (both 29 miles), with their rock pools, seals and wonderful summer wildlife. Eyemouth’s working harbour is also worth a visit. There are many walking trails all around, including the glorious Kelso to Roxburgh trail, following the Borders Abbeys Way beside the rivers of Teviot and Tweed. Kelso, Roxburgh (6.5 miles) and Jedburgh (13.5 miles) have some excellent independent shops, pubs, galleries and eateries.

Inside the single-storey cottage, you’ll find a fresh and bright interior, with fabulous views from every window. The open-plan lounge/diner has exposed stone walls and wood beams, a wood burner, a rosewood dining table for four, a wide hemmel arch window and French doors which open onto the patio. The kitchen, which is equipped with everything needed to create fabulous dinners for four, has glass doors which also access the patio and terrific views of Cliftonhill Farm. There are two tranquil bedrooms, a double and a twin which both have soothing hues and pops of colour. The calming bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.

Enjoy convivial feasts and BBQs on the sheltered south-facing patio, with its panoramic views of Border country and the Cheviot Hills on the horizon. Rest on the recliners or set the outdoor table up for dinner, which you can cook on the charcoal BBQ.
