Property code: OC-NB1951

Situated on a narrow lane 500 metres from the centre of Jedburgh, this charming 19th-century cottage is the ideal bolthole for a dog-owning couple who crave a romantic break. Surrounded by a wealth of cultural, historical and natural attractions, there is plenty to occupy you and your other half throughout the day, from residences with royal connections and trips to vibrant market towns to sporting activities in and around Ale Water Valley.

The three-storey terrace cottage has sat on a narrow lane in the centre of Jedburgh since around 1800. Its characterful stone exterior is beautifully complemented by its softly coated and homely interior, a blend of neat and lightly decorated rooms filled with rustic, contemporary and practical items.

The ground floor opens with a resplendent kitchen/diner set up for foodies who like plenty of space when romantic meals beckon. The dining table and chairs are only a few paw prints away, meaning that second helpings and top-ups are never a chore. A handy utility room with a large worktop is nearby, the ideal spot for keeping on top of washing and even storing bicycles made for two.

A light and spacious lounge dominates the first floor, offering a range of comfortable seating for film night snuggles or stolen moments with an audiobook or podcast. The room becomes all the more bright and cosy when the wood burner is lit as temperatures fall, with plenty of light also pouring in through the large window adjacent to it.

The en-suite king-size bedroom on the third floor has triple aspect windows that flood the area with natural light throughout the day and is far from the ambient noise from street level come nightfall.

There is no garden at the cottage, but it does have enviable access to some of Jedburgh’s most popular attractions.

  • 1 king-size bedroom
  • 1 en-suite shower room with a WC

  • Smart TV
  • Allocated private parking for 1 car
  • Bikes can be stored in the utility room

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was as lovely as it looks on the website, and the owners have really thought through all the detail. Plenty to see and do in and around Jedburgh, with a friendly welcome from everyone we spoke to. We should have booked for longer, but have an excuse to come back.

Gorgeous cottage in the centre of Jedburgh. Clean, comfortable and had everything we could possibly want! Parking is just behind the property. Jedburgh is a lovely town with shops, pubs, cafes, walks, an abbey, jail and lots more. A great base to explore the Scottish border and Northumberland coast. Fabulous stay! Would definitely return!
