This colourful holiday retreat is in the quaint village of Pathhead, just 10 miles from Edinburgh. Sleeping four guests, the property suits couples and small families looking for a holiday that perfectly blends country living with the hustle and bustle of the city. Enjoy peaceful walks directly from the property, or head into Edinburgh to explore all the fantastic attractions that Scotland’s capital city has to offer. After a day of adventure, relax in the pretty garden and enjoy the far-reaching rural views.
The single-storey, period cottage has bags of personality and charm. Fabulous original features can be spotted throughout the abode, such as the exposed beams in one of the bedrooms, and an eclectic mix of antique-style furniture and colourful soft furnishings all come together to create a truly unique holiday home.
Step inside the stone cottage and into the vestibule, where you can store all your outdoor attire. Continue into the hall and through to the inviting lounge, with its vibrant sofas and quirky accessories. Spend time here, reading a book in the glow of the wood burner or enjoying a singsong around the piano. From here, wander through to the sleek kitchen/diner, where you’ll find everything needed to cook up a storm after a day of sightseeing. Gather around the elegant table by the window for memorable mealtimes with family and friends. When day turns to night, choose from two uniquely styled bedrooms. There’s a double bedroom with a fabulous beamed ceiling and a twin bedroom with two statement beds (please note, one of the beds is raised). A family bathroom completes the accommodation.
Outside, an enclosed, leafy garden awaits, with a large lawn and a patio area for al fresco dining in summer months. You’ll also discover a charming summer house – the perfect spot for a sundowner as you read your book and admire the scenery. There is on-street parking, subject to availability.
