This magnificent holiday retreat is in the far-north of Scotland, 10 miles from John O’Groats. The spacious property welcomes six guests and has a vast open-plan social area for spending quality time together. Day trips from the holiday home include The Castle of Mey (3 miles), Dunnet Bay (4 miles), and the Orkney Islands (10 miles). The surrounding area is a paradise for walkers, with easy access to routes such as the North Highland Way and John O’Groats Trail.

The stylish property has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished, with statement furniture, unique accessories, and bespoke design features. The holiday retreat has a whole host of luxurious touches, including underfloor heating on the ground floor.

The social heart is the lounge/drawing room which boasts a vaulted ceiling with skylights and a wall of glass doors and windows overlooking the garden. Spend time in here, snuggled up on the plump sofas in front of the wood burner and Smart TV. French doors lead through to the vast kitchen/diner, where you’ll find all the equipment and worktop space needed to cater for the group. Gather at the central island for brunch as you plan the day’s itinerary or share formal dinners at the wooden dining table. For quiet time, retreat to the library to sit back and enjoy the distant views of the Orkney Islands. This room also has a Smart TV and selection of board games and jigsaws. Rounding off this level is a boot room, a utility room, and a ground-floor shower room.

A bespoke staircase from the hallway leads to the first floor, where three exquisite super-king-size bedrooms await. All the bedrooms enjoy tranquil coastal views, and have their own en-suite facilities. One of the bedrooms has a trundle bed that can be made up if requested, and another of the bedrooms has a mezzanine level set under the eaves where children can hang out and play games.

Outside, a large garden awaits with a pretty patio area with furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining in summer months. Beyond the patio is a lawn for playing outdoor games or sharing picnics in the sunshine. The property has private parking for four cars.

The photographs on the website dont do this property justice. Its stunning. The house is incredibly well equipped and has everything we needed. The area itself is beautiful with plenty of walks. We were very lucky with the weather too. I would highly recommend this property. Communication with the owner was seamless too.

The above recommendation is being really picky- we came prepared but other dog owners may not be. We were delighted with the property and the quality of furnishings and equipment. We found the place very comfortable and have already recommended it to our friends and family. This place is so special and it felt like a privilege to stay there. We relaxed very quickly and felt like we were living in the luxury of a 5 star hotel.
