This luxurious Highland retreat sits amongst the breathtaking landscape of the Cairngorms National Park, near the quaint village of Boat of Garten. The property can accommodate up to 14 guests and boasts vast social spaces, both indoors and outside, for spending quality time with family and friends. The village is a great base for walkers and cyclists, with the Speyside Way and the Sustrans cycle route passing nearby. Aviemore, renowned for its excellent outdoor adventure opportunities, is just 6 miles away.
The spacious lodge is warm and inviting, with exposed woodwork and rugged stonework throughout, along with plush soft furnishings – including Icelandic fur rugs - and little nods to the Highland setting in the accessories and artwork.
A large entrance porch welcomes you inside, with bench seating and space to store outdoor gear. From here, head through to the inviting lounge, where an array of comfortable seating is arranged around a Smart TV and the first of three roaring wood burners. Unwind here, after a day of adventure, watching a movie or simply admiring the far-reaching Highland views through the window. The social hub of the house is a stunning farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, where you’ll find all the equipment and worktop space needed to cater for a large group. Taking centre stage is a dining table for hosting dinner parties, and there’s also a plump window seat – the ideal spot for a morning coffee. This room boasts a second wood burner and a Smart TV. The ground floor is also home to a family bathroom and a Scandinavian sauna. In the evenings, retreat to the snug/bar to chill out and watch the Smart TV with a glass of wine and the crackle of the third wood burner in the background. This room has a sofa bed that can accommodate an extra guest by prior arrangement. Rounding off the ground floor is a utility room and a gorgeous super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
Two separate staircases lead to the first-floor bedrooms, all of which feature elegant furniture and thoughtful touches to make you as comfortable as possible. The first is a family room with a super-king-size bed and three sets of bunk beds that can sleep both adults and children. The second is a super-king-size and the third is a king-size, both of which have en-suite shower rooms and views towards the Cairngorm mountains.
Outside, a vast, enclosed garden awaits, with play equipment for children and ample green space for dogs. There’s also a patio area with furniture for al fresco dining, along with a bubbling hot tub and a firepit for toasting marshmallows. Private parking is available for six cars.
