This romantic bolthole enjoys a peaceful village setting just along the coast from Dunoon, on the edge of the Highlands. Set on the wild and rugged Cowal Peninsula, it’s the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts, with endless walks to explore along the coast or amongst the trees of Argyll Forest Park. After a long walk, enjoy a cosy night in front of the roaring wood burner.
The characterful holiday cottage is decorated in a contemporary style, with tones that complement the coastal surroundings and artwork depicting local seascapes. Enter the property into the sleek kitchen/diner, where you’ll find all the equipment needed to rustle up a dinner for two, which you can share at the wooden dining table. After dinner, head through to the inviting lounge to snuggle up on the sofa and watch a movie in the glow of the cosy wood burner. From the kitchen, stairs lead down to the peaceful, French-inspired double bedroom with patio doors leading to the outside space. Completing the accommodation is a stylish bathroom. Outside, share a bottle of wine at the bistro set in the enclosed patio garden on a summer’s evening. Parking is free along the seafront, subject to availability.
Dunoon (1 mile) is a vibrant coastal town with a good range of independent shops, boutiques, and galleries. Enjoy walks along the town’s shingle beach overlooking the Firth of Clyde or, for a more traditional beach day, journey to the sandy shores of Ardentinny (13 miles) or Ardlamont Bay (29 miles). Alternatively, spend a relaxing afternoon amongst the floral displays at Benmore Botanic Garden (7 miles). Further afield, board the ferry at Colintraive (20 miles) to visit the Isle of Bute, with its pristine beaches and colourful houses.
